I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 14

    Well Matched Couple

Wen Le was determined to ignore Zhou Kao, so she kept walking along the bookcase, looking for the book she needed.

Zhou Kao, on the other hand, did not leave. Instead, he slowly followed Wen Le.

Wen Le didn’t bother to pay attention to him, she noticed Zhou Kao leaning in her direction.

Wen Le turned around and looked at Zhou Kao blankly, “as far as I know, the books used in your discipline are not on this floor, correct?”

Zhou Kao chuckled. Because he was concerned about being heard in the library, he lowered his voice dramatically, making it more magnetic and mellow. Zhou Kao leaned over as if he had captured Wen Le in his arms, and his laughter seemed to ring in Wen Le’s ears.

Wen Le had to grudgingly admit that her ears were teased.

Wen Le was unafraid, staring straight into Zhou Kao’s deep, narrow eyes. She clearly saw a hint of mischief twinkle within them.

The distance between the two quickly diminished, and yet Zhou Kao continued to approach her. In the increasingly small space, the scents of cologne on Zhou Kao’s body and perfume on Wen Le’s body gradually blended to create something new.

Wen Le couldn’t help but take a step back, but her back had already made contact with the bookshelf. The tall figure of Zhou Kao cast a shadow in front of her. Zhou Kao appeared to be pressing Wen Le against the bookshelf at this point. If someone saw it, they’d definitely think the two of them were going to ‘KISS.’

*kiss was written in english in the original text like this.

“Oh, so you think the reason I’m here now is…for you?” Zhou Kao whispered softly into Wen Le’s ear.

*TN: KYAAAAAA OUR ML IS SUCH A TEASE!!!!

After speaking, Zhou Kao reached for a book near Wen Le’s waist.

Wen Le raised her brows slightly, you’re tryna play?

Wen Le then did something which did not fit with the image of a lady she had always maintained.

Wen Le extended her hand and pushed hard against Zhou Kao’s chest, causing him to take two steps back. How wide a gap could there be between the two bookshelves? Zhou Kao came to a halt when he felt his back hit the bookshelf behind him.

Yet Wen Le strode forward, stretched out her hand, the corners of her mouth slightly upturned. Her eyes were filled with a tender warmth of an unfathomable depth.

She was a natural enchantress, yet she chose to look like a dignified lady.

Wen Le extended her hand. Her snow-white fair hand appeared to be on the verge of touching Zhou Kao’s handsome face.

Zhou Kao’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he remained motionless.

Just as she was about to touch Zhou Kao’s cheek Wen Le brushed against his ear and pulled out the book closest to his head.

The corners of Wen Le’s mouth curled lightly. She tipped her feet, leaned into Zhou Kao’s ear and whispered softly, “do you have to play like this, scumbag?”

The corners of Zhou Kao’s lips lifted gently, and he lowered his head slightly, leaning closer to Wen Le’s ear, whispering like a lover, “I don’t see you playing otherwise, bitch.”

The two broke apart from each other unhappily.

Wen Le’s lips brushed against Zhou Kao’s ear as they moved away because they were too close.

    Neither of them cared.

Wen Le returned to the study table after obtaining the book she wanted. She took out her small mirror, wiped away the tomato-red lip gloss with a wet towel, and touched up her makeup with her Korean-style setting powder.

Wen Le seemed to have thought of something and smiled slightly, feeling a little proud.

This asshole dared to tease her?

    Hehe.

No man has been able to take advantage of her

Cheng Hui lightly tapped Wen Le’s table with her pen and whispered in hushed tones, “what are you laughing at? Have you gone insane?”

Wen Le shook her head, “It’s nothing.”

After Zhou Kao borrowed the books, he went directly to class. He was scheduled for classes in both the third and fourth periods.

There were a lot of people in the classroom when Zhou Kao arrived.

A girl noticed Zhou Kao as soon as he sat down. She quickly covered her mouth, turned her head, and poked her female companion beside her. They both turned to look at him as though they wanted to laugh at him.

Zhou Kao didn’t mind or rather was used to it. It was just that he kept getting the impression that people were looking at him differently today than they had in the past.

Before Zhou Kao could figure it out, his roommate Hang Shuai suddenly shouted, “f*ck!”

Then he seemed to realize something, looked around, lowered his voice, and said, “f*ck, boss, what were you doing in the morning?

Zhou Kao was puzzled and pointed to the book in his hand, “I was at the library.”

Hang Shuai seemed to be at a loss for words, so he pointed to Zhou Kao’s ear and said, “take a photo and look for yourself.”

Zhou Kao seemed to hear a girl snickering.

Zhou Kao took a picture with his mobile phone and saw that on his ears there were two bright red…lip prints.

    Zhou Kao suddenly remembered something.

Earlier at the library, after he and Wen Le had finished taunting each other, because the distance was too close, his ears seemed to have been touched by her lips.

Zhou Kao remembered the proud and mocking smile at the corner of Wen Le’s mouth as she left.

    Zhou Kao’s face turned livid.

There were still girls in the classroom secretly laughing at him.

In Zhou Kao’s ears, it sounded like they were laughing to celebrate Wen Le’s victory.

    Wen Le!

    “Hahahaha…”

“Le ah, what exactly are you laughing at?” Cheng Hui exclaimed, taking off her headphones with a concerned expression on her face. “You have been like this the whole day. Have you finally gone insane?”

Wen Le reacted by covering her mouth with both hands, but she smiled and leaned against Cheng Hui’s shoulders.

“What exactly is going on?” asked Cheng Hui.

“It’s nothing,” Wen Le said, waving her hand, “I just put Zhou Kao in a pickle.”

“How and when did you meet Zhou Kao?” Cheng Hui was taken aback because the two of them had spent almost the entire day together.

“When we were at the library,” Wen Le said.

“So, did you ask if he had a fiancée?”

“He said ‘when did that happen, why don’t I know about it?’.”

“It seems that he doesn’t have a fiancée.”

Hearing them talk, Man Qingxuan leaned over and nodded before saying, “If two people’s answers contradict each other, one of them must have lied.”

“Is it possible that there is a third situation?” Bao Xiaofan interjected. “That they both told the truth.”

“You mean, what Zhenzhen said is true,” Wen Le said. She is, in fact, Zhou Kao’s fiancée, but what Zhou Kao said is also correct. He truly believes he has no fiancée. That means Zhou Kao’s family arranged a fiancée for him, but he was unaware of it?”

Bao Xiaofan nodded, “Those are the three possible scenarios.”

“No way…Why is there still such a thing in this age?” exclaimed Man Qingxuan.

“You really can’t be sure of such things with wealthy people,” said Bao Xiaofan.

“Today, while chatting with one of my close friends who is a Ms Perfect*, I inquired about Zhou Kao” Bao Xiaofan said. “His family’s background is really something; it’s just not something that poor people like us can imagine.”

*Ms Perfect (bai fu mei) is an internet slang used to describe someone who is fair-skinned, beautiful and rich.

“Zhou Kao and his family are a well-known veteran family in the capital. The family is primarily involved in politics and are all powerful figures. Given that Zhou Kao attended law school, it is expected that he will follow in his father’s footsteps. Zhou Kao’s paternal grandfather is a businessman. According to my best friend, Zhou Kao’s grandfather gave him a company as a gift after he was accepted into University A.”

“What the f*ck!?” exclaimed Man Qingxuan. “This…this! Oh my god, isn’t this the standard for an idol drama’s male lead? My mother only wrapped me some dumplings when I started at University A.”

“Poverty limits our imagination,” said Cheng Hui.

“This isn’t the point,” Bao Xiaofan remarked. “The point is that during his final year of high school, Zhou Kao took his company’s employees on a project, and it appears that they had invested in some software. It is estimated that at least tens of millions of dollars have been made thus far.”

“F*ck! (He’s really a) Big brother, big brother!”

“Oh my god, does such a person really exist? I believed everything they showed on TV was all made up for entertainment and production value, but I really had no idea there was such a massive guy around!”

“So such a family ‘s actions is not something we can imagine,” Bao Xiaofan concluded.

“And that Zhenzhen, their family is also in business.  It’s the Hall Hotel; a well-known hotel owned by her family. That Zhenzhen is a true Ms Perfect, and she appears to be very close to Zhou Kao’s grandfather’s side.”

“What the hell, this is a well…” Man Qingxuan instantly understood something was amiss, covertly glanced at Wen Le, and swallowed what she was about to say.

“It’s really a well-matched couple,” Wen Le smiled. What was the difficulty in saying this. “I wish them well.”

When Bao Xiaofan heard Wen Le say that, she felt a little uneasy and responded, “Lele, I didn’t say these things to…”

“I know,” Wen Le kept smiling, “you can ask Cheng Hui. In fact, I stated this morning that I had no intention of making any progress with Zhou Kao, whether he has anything to do with Zhenzhen or not.”

Cheng Hui nodded at the two of them.

Wen Le gently tugged at her hair, pulling a strand and carefully twirling it between her fingers, seeming both charming and seductive, and added, “Mainly because, in the future, my dream is to work hard to make money and raise an obedient pretty boy. He’s a little pricey; I’m frightened I’ll pass out from exhaustion. I can’t afford it, I really can’t.”

    *TN: LOL SAVAGE WEN LE!!

The roommates all burst out laughing when they heard this.

Although Bao Xiaofan had a fiery temper, she was also an emotional person.

This sensitive and kind girl believed that the reason this burgeoning relationship was snuffed out was due to the mountain-like background disparity between the two, as well as Wen Le’s fragile and stubborn self-esteem in the face of money.

Bao Xiaofan only felt her nose tingling. She knew how many boys Wen Le had rejected, and she also understood that Zhou Kao was special to Wen Le. Wen Le, a proud and hardworking girl, deserved the best of everything but had to make do with reality, in her perspective. She felt sorry for Wen Le.

Bao Xiaofan got up from the bed and pounced on Wen Le with a coquettish voice, “Lele…”

The two hugged, forming a ball.

    “Haha, what are you doing?”

Wen Le’s phone abruptly rang while they were playing.

Wen Le glanced at it, it was an unknown number.

Wen Le picked up the phone wondering if it was a certain jewelry customer service again when she heard the other person ask, “are you Wen Le?”

Immediately upon listening to the other party’s tone, she knew that they were looking for trouble, “I am, who are you?”

Then she heard the reply: “I am Su Zhenzhen, Zhou Kao’s fiancée.”

TN: Dun dun dun, lol what a cliffhanger!!! What do you guys think really happened? Also wishing you guys a merry christmas holidays ahead~

I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 13

TN: Hello readers, sorry again for the delay in posting! Our editor Lavvy is currently busy with exams so for the time being we have the lovely Exodus helping us to edit the next few chapters. The next few chapters is when the pace of the story will pick up, so stay tuned~

    Are you bothered by it?

“Wen Le, didn’t you say you weren’t dating Zhou Kao?” Sun Youmei asked incredulously. “You are a liar!”

Her tone growing increasingly agitated, she followed on explosively: “Didn’t I warn you before? Zhou Kao is out of your league!!”

“Do you really want to be a third party for a few dollars? Do you even know what shame is?”

The entire dormitory fell silent after Sun Youmei’s outburst.

Wen Le said nothing. She just stared coldly at the incensed Sun Youmei.

Wen Le thought that what was left of her conscience was not worth spending on Sun Youmei. She simply wasn’t worth forgiving.

“Sun Youmei, you better reflect on your words, were the words you just said humane?” Bao Xiaofan interjected calmly.

Sun Youmei returned to her senses after hearing Bao Xiaofan’s words, and her face turned pale.

She gnawed on her lip, silent for a moment, then with her voice barely above a whisper she said, “I’m sorry, I got a little agitated. But …”

Suddenly, Sun Youmei raised her head and looked straight into Wen Le’s eyes. “But Wen Le you did something wrong! Zhou Kao is Zhenzhen’s fiancée! How can you…”

    TN: Plot twist~

Wen Le stared back at Sun Youmei with a cold look in her eyes. “Before accusing me of having bad morals, don’t you need to ask me if I’m with Zhou Kao?”

Sun Youmei’s gaze briefly evaded hers, as if she realized her impulse.

“However, there are photos of Zhou Kao escorting you back on BBS, and he has never escorted other girls back before.”

“So, no one else knows he’s not single, right?” Wen Le asked. “So how would I know?”

“If he really had a fiancée, I would apologize for my previous contact with him beyond normal etiquette and choose to stay away from him,” Wen Le said icily. ” I would even expose his heinous actions. But, in the situation where I was unaware, I believe the primary responsibility for this error lies with Zhou Kao, who obviously has a fiancée but conceals that fact, doesn’t it? Strangely, instead of blaming the scumbag, everyone will accuse the girl of being a third party.”

“Just like when your boyfriend cheated, you didn’t figure out who was to blame, so you accused those girls of being little bitches. However, you did not accuse your boyfriend of being a scumbag. What kind of mentality do you have, Sun Youmei?”

TN: Yes, you go girl! Society is always putting the blame on the women but they always forget it takes two to tango LOL

Sun Youmei took a step back, as if unsure of what to do.

“As for whether Zhou Kao is a scumbag, I will ask him for confirmation,” Wen Le said with a lazy voice, laying back on the bed. “Face-to-face confrontation is, in fact, the most effective and genuine way of checking these things, but I’m not sure which side is lying.”

“You!” Sun Youmei exclaimed anxiously. “I didn’t lie!”

    Wen Le ignored her.

“Okay, don’t worry about eating salty radishes*. It’s already eleven o’clock, you still don’t want to wash up?” said Cheng Hui, yawning. “It’s time to turn the lights out.”

*don’t worry about eating salty radishes = it is a Chinese idiom meant to express one being meddlesome; to poke one’s nose into others’ business

There was no class the next morning, and she wasn’t required to be on duty. Wen Le slept soundly.

Wen Le awoke at half past eight. Man Qingxuan and Bao Xiaofan were still sleeping in their beds.

Wen Le and Cheng Hui went to the library together.

On the way to the library, Cheng Hui recalled what had happened the night before and cursed angrily, “She doesn’t have a conscience, I’m so angry with her.”

“What did she mean to be a third party just for that paltry amount of money?” Wen Le, who rarely let down her demure girl front, asked Cheng Hui. “Isn’t it true that every penny I earn is my own? Who exactly is the one reliant on men?”

Wen Le didn’t finish her sentence and took a deep breath, saying, “Okay, let’s not become angry, I can’t let her ruin my entire day.”

“But what the hell is going on between you and Zhou Kao?” Cheng Hui asked.

“Sure enough, there is no free lunch in the world,” Wen Le said, frowning. There is no shield that does not come at a cost.”

“Are you really just using him as a shield?” Cheng Hui asked.

“Would you believe this kind of gossip?” sneered Wen Le.

    “Sure enough,” Cheng Hui replied.

“We are all adults, none of us are stupid,” Wen Le said. “To say they are innocent is to say they are pretending to be innocent. We aren’t children ignorant of the world anymore. There will be no meaning to this act once the cover of the shield and male best friend is blown.”

“So you actually like him?” Cheng Hui asked, looking at Wen Le.

Wen Le shrugged her shoulders. Her long hair was blown up by the breeze, lending a gentle tenderness to her cold and realistic words. “It’s just a passing fancy. The feelings I’ve had for three years have long since faded.”

“So the two of you really have a history together.” Cheng Hui asked, surprised.

“There would have been no infatuation even if there had been history,” Wen Le shook her head. “The best things are always out of reach.”

“In fact, as long as you exchange a glance, both parties would know that there is only one unbroken window of opportunity left in this relationship.”

It’s a pity that it didn’t break through.

This poor window paper for this relationship was covered with a soft light filter, just like a puzzle pieced together like a photo, with a touch of false hope and regret.

*TN: I think Wen Le is trying to say that deep in her heart, she had hoped that through their recent encounters, she and Zhou Kao could have a possibility together and that this was their last chance of making it work. But with Sun Youmei’s rude revelation, she doesn’t think it will happen. There’s still more backstory about our main couple to uncover~

“Does he think so, too?” Cheng Hui asked.

“It doesn’t matter anymore,” Wen Le replied.

“What do you mean?” Cheng Hui inquired.

“I didn’t care about my heart’s infatuation,” Wen Le clarified, “but it was so strange. I was confessed to three times late at night, and he was always there when I needed someone the most. You’ll think it was fate that replanted the seeds of infatuation that I’d left behind in the past, but…”

Wen Le shook her head and did not continue.

There were only a few people in the library early in the morning. Amidst the sound of the ruffling of pages, the two of them found a quiet corner to sit down and read.

Time passed, and the sun gradually moved westward.

The morning sun reflected Wen Le’s thick long hair, long and straight eyelashes, the high bridge of her nose, and ruddy lips. Wen Le’s snow-white skin was almost transparent under the sun, and her long and straight eyelashes shone brightly.

Wen Le under the sun has an almost sacred beauty.

A real beauty shines regardless of the environment or thousands of other factors.

Wen Le, who was looking down at the book, frowned abruptly, then rose gently, pointed to the bookshelf, and motioned to Cheng Hui that she was going to find a book on her own.

    Cheng Hui nodded.

Her gaze swept across the rows of bookshelves, it should be in this row, Wen Le thought to herself…

    Ah, found it!

Only…It was placed on the highest shelf.

The bookshelf was quite high. Wen Le tried to reach on her tiptoes, but her fingers only touched the bottom of the book’s spine.

Wen Le raised her heels and pulled the book out by a bit as she joked in her heart, it seems that I need to wear those dreadful sky-high shoes next time.

While she was lost in her thoughts, the book she wanted to take out produced a thin card, and it was about to hit Wen Le in the face.

Wen Le noticed something approaching her face and subconsciously reached out her hand to block it, but she reached out with the wrong hand and forgot the book in her other hand.

Wen Le saw the book about to hit her when she reacted, but her feet chose to stumble over themselves at this time. She closed her eyes almost subconsciously, anticipating the unfortunate moment of her collision with the floor.

Her face, however, was not in pain, and she did not fall.

A powerful arm wrapped around Wen Le’s thin waist, and she was drawn into a familiar embrace tinged with the scent of a familiar cologne.

Wen Le slowly opened her eyes to reveal Zhou Kao’s stunning and fearless face.

Wen Le thought, look, it’s like this again.

Once, twice and now for the third time, it really was a wonderful twist of fate.

It was such a wonderful fate that catalyzed Wen Le’s long-buried seed called infatuation.

Wen Le’s delicate little face could be seen as her long hair fell behind her back.

Wen Le, who always exuded a strong demeanour, suddenly appeared frail and helpless as panic and surprise flashed through those overly beautiful eyes.

Nothing can stimulate a man’s desire to protect a girl more than this.

The tips of Wen Le’s waist-length long hair fell gently on Zhou Kao’s arm, and it was as if something about this moment had touched Zhou Kao’s heart.

Zhou Kao let go of Wen Le, took a step back, and handed the book to her.

    So polite and gentlemanly.

So much so that some people might find it unsettling.

It was difficult to explain the uncomfortable sensation.

Wen Le accepted the book and thanked him softly.

Also speaking softly, Zhou Kao said, “You should thank me well.”

    Wen Le did not reply.

Wen Le had another thought about what Sun Youmei had said the other day

She felt irritation creep up on her.

    She wanted to clarify things.

But she also didn’t want to be the one asking.

The moment she asked him the question, she would tumble from the pedestal and he would have the upper hand.

In fact, why ask if she didn’t care about him?

And it occurred to her that if she asked him and then kept her distance from him, she would be a coward.

    That would not be possible.

She would never be a cowardly and timid escapee.

But she had to keep her distance from him.

Wen Le wanted to curse badly.

    Sun Youmei, that ungrateful wretch.

Wen Le took a step back and smiled gracefully. “I heard you have a fiancée?”

Zhou Kao was taken aback when he heard the words. Then, with a mocking expression on his lips he asked, “when did that happen, why don’t I know about it?”

His reaction did not surprise Wen Le.

She pursed her lips and smiled; it wasn’t clear if she believed it or not, “It seems that her name is something-Zhenzhen.”

“Does that bother you?” Zhou Kao asked without even batting an eyelid.

TN: Our male lead is so quick-witted and vicious!! Straight-forward i like it~

    “Oh, no.”

“Do you still remember?” Wen Le asked.

“You asked how I should thank you.”

Zhou Kao raised his eyebrows, “so this is your sincerity?”

Wen Le pursed her lips and chuckled, gracefully and formally, “Timely informing you that you have such a fiancée can help you recover unnecessary reputation losses.”

    “Isn’t it sincere enough?”

Zhou Kao suddenly approached and whispered, “I thought I had no reputation since I met you.”

“Rather than saying it is to help me recover the loss of my reputation, it’s more like you ‘wiping out those who disagree’?”

“This is obviously defending your reputation, isn’t it?”

Wen Le pushed Zhou Kao’s face away, disgusted. “Please, I think you’ve been watching too many palace fight dramas.”

I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 12

    Queen of Conversation Topics

TN: Hello readers, sorry for the slight delay in posting! Hope you guys enjoy this chapter 🙂

“Why did you come back dressed like that? Aren’t you tired of holding up the big skirt?”

Wen Le replied, “I’m wearing flats and I’m not tired.”

Cheng Hui asked, “Did that Yao Yao stir up trouble for you again?”

Wen Le said, “It’s just some child’s tricks, it’s nothing.”

Man Qingxuan was curious, “What’s the matter? What happened?”

Thus Cheng Hui shared how Yao Yao deliberately threw away the microphone to step on Wen Le.

“Actually, many people saw what happened at that time. She didn’t know that the student union teacher was watching from below, her face had turned pale.”

Man Qingxuan was shocked, “She’s crazy, f*ck, trying to make a scene on the stage.”

Cheng Hui said, “What’s so surprising? If Wen Le hurt her hand and couldn’t go on stage, someone would definitely need to replace Wen Le. Then, wouldn’t this have created another opportunity? And she could say that she didn’t mean to. When the time came, she would just pay for the medical expenses. Her family has money and doesn’t care about that small sum of money.”

Bao Xiaofan lay on the bed and while playing with her mobile phone, remarked, “I used to be in the same middle school as her. Although we were not in the same class, I have also heard of her using this trick to manipulate a lot of people. She has probably also mastered the situation. The key point is that there were people in their family in the district hospital at that time. Using their connections, they messed with the medical records so they didn’t have to compensate much.”

Man Qingxuan was shocked, “What the f*ck, isn’t this woman simply psychopathic?”

Bao Xiaofan agreed “I too think, a little bit. Her parents are high-level intellectuals and had very high expectations of her since she was a child. During a parent-teacher meeting, they pointed at her forehead and yelled in front of so many people in the corridor just because she lost a point or two.”

“I also heard at the time that the atmosphere in their house was very weird. She was a day student in high school. When she returned home from school to do her homework, her mother kept an eye on her and scolded her at every turn. At that time, she had been unable to rank higher than another classmate in the class. Her mother called her trash and scolded her for being useless. Basically it’s like she was under a lot of pressure.”

“I think that although everyone was under a lot of pressure and nervous during senior year of high school, their family has been like this since she was young. I think it’s very depressing. Her parents are also the kind where you have to follow their every rule on top of controlling her studies.”

Cheng Hui said  “This kind of parent is also a bit extreme, causing the child’s psychology to indeed be a bit…So, it’s better not to have anything to do with such people.”

While Cheng Hui was talking, Man Qingxuan suddenly yelled, “Ah ah ah! Wen Le! You’re screwed.”

Cheng Hui said, “What’s the matter, what’s the matter?”

“I just said not to have anything to do with her, now look at BBS! Oh my god!”

“The campus goddess is suspected of coming out in public? The real reason you can’t chase the goddess is actually…”

“The suspected romance of the faculty belle of the School of Economics was exposed, and her lover is actually…”

“Shocked! She actually did this on the stage of the graduation party!”

Bao Xiaofan was speechless: “Don’t read these messy titles already, what’s exactly the matter?”

Man Qingxuan raised her head, her eyes widened, and she couldn’t believe it, “Wen Le is being labelled as lesbian on BBS!”

    Wen Le, “What?”

Cheng Hui hurriedly opened BBS in shock. When she saw the red rows in the entertainment section, she didn’t even know what to say.

Bao Xiaofan looked at Wen Le with an expression of being struck by lightning, and said, “They said you are lesbian.”

    Wen Le, “?”

Cheng Hui added: “They also said that you kabedoned* Yao Yao in public.”

*Kabedon or kabe-don refers to the action of slapping a wall fiercely, which produces the sound “don”. Kabedon has a specific meaning that mainly has a romantic connotation. The word is used to describe a man who traps a woman between a wall by hitting the wall with his hand.

    Wen Le, “?”

Man Qingxuan continued, “They say you are in an underground relationship with Yao Yao.”

    Wen Le, “?”

Wen Le couldn’t decide if she wanted to laugh or cry, “I really admire their fanciful imagination.”

Cheng Hui said, “What should we do?”

Instead, Wen Le smiled, not appearing anxious at all.

The three of them in the dormitory looked at Wen Le’s expression and were very curious, they looked at each other simultaneously and said, “There’s a trick up her sleeve!”

“Hurry up and say it, quickly say it!”

Wen Le pretended to be charming and whipped her hair, and then smiled wickedly, “Because I have a shield.”

The three of them in the dormitory looked at each other again, “Zhou Kao?”

Wen Le nodded, carried her skirt and walked sideways into the dormitory, “Just wait for it, there will be a big reversal tomorrow, and this big sister  will still be the queen of the most jealous topic tomorrow.”

The three of them in the dormitory vomited as if they couldn’t stand it.

But in their heart, they were so curious till death.

But Wen Le just didn’t want to say it.

After Wen Le washed up, she then put a mask on her face and sat at her desk to check her emails.

The editor of Wenxing Magazine sent her a document, saying that the manuscript was approved this time, and notified her of the specific publication time and the payment date of the manuscript fee.

Wen Le wrote back to the editorial department.

After replying, she looked up and found a face beside her. She was taken aback, and after looking intently at it, she realised it was Cheng Hui.

Wen Le clutched her chest, “You scared me! What are you doing?”

Cheng Hui also clutched her chest, “I was more scared by your big white face, please.”

Wen Le’s face was still covered with a mask, which was a white cream base.

Cheng Hui sniffed at the mask and said, “Your mask smells pretty good, was it your aunt that sent it to you?”

Wen Le nodded and took a palm-sized glass jar from the drawer of her study desk. The jar as a whole was a frosted cube with no other extra designs, but the smooth lines were very unique, making this ordinary small jar seem like a luxury product.

Wen Le opened the small jar, which contained a white paste, “Would you like some?”

Cheng Hui found a headband to lift her bangs up, and closed her eyes, “Come on, put a little.”

    Wen Le laughed slightly, “Okay.”

Cheng Hui said, “Your aunt always sends you so many bottles and jars, and they are all in the same packaging. It can’t be that she customizes them all by herself?”

Wen Le said, “Maybe it’s her hobby. I always thought my aunt’s job was selling clothes.”

Cheng Hui said  “That’s so good, I also want to have such an aunt.”

Wen Le finished applying the mask on Cheng Hui’s face and giggled  “You can become such an aunt.”

Cheng Hui glared at her, “Who wants to be an aunt, I am a little sister.”

The two of them were talking and laughing, when the dormitory door was suddenly pushed open. The four of them thought it was the top student Ai Fei who had come back. They glanced at the door, but it turned out to be Sun Youmei.

Sun Youmei was carrying a bag of sweets, with a smile on her small round face, and her voice was deliberately cheerful, “Hello, I’m back. I brought you guys delicious food.”

As she talked, she carried the bag and put it on the desk.

She carefully peeped at their faces and said pitifully: “I seem to have lost my temper again…You won’t be still angry with me, will you?”

“You know me, I just have this temper, please don’t be angry, okay~”

She held up three fingers pitifully and said, “I promise, I will never do it again next time!”

None of them spoke. Bao Xiaofan rolled her eyes in anger. She really didn’t want to care about her, but after a short stalemate, Wen Le was the first to break the silence, “Your tone is really like those scumbags~”

Sun Youmei giggled with a puff, “Hahaha, it really does sound like it.”

The atmosphere of the entire dormitory then mellowed down, and dormitory 307 seemed to have returned to the harmony of the past.

Wen Le and Cheng Hui glanced at each other and sighed lightly.

Sun Youmei was always like this. When her temper rose, whether she was right or wrong, she would lose her temper first. Afterwards, she would regret it when she thought back on it. She would then buy her favourite macarons as an apology gift for others, and apologize in a soft gentle voice.

Who knew the number of times this had already happened, but they would still always choose to accept her apology.

Although everyone didn’t like to eat her favourite macarons that were just too sweet and greasy.

Sun Youmei was forgiven and smiled happily while giving everyone a hug.

Though Bao Xiaofan looked disgusted on the surface, she did not refuse her hug.

After Sun Youmei hugged all of them, she was satisfied, but suddenly saw the expressions of the dorm leader and her roommates. As if she had realised something, she suddenly covered her ears, “Ah! I know you guys are going to nag at me again. I say, why do I always have the feeling that I can’t get rid of my parents even when I’m at university? It turns out that it’s you guys!”

Cheng Hui pulled her hand down and said, “I don’t care. Even if you don’t like to listen to us, we still have to talk about it. Just think of it as maintaining what’s left of our little conscience.”

Sun Youmei put down her hand, lowered her head, and said like a child being reprimanded, “Okay, you guys can go ahead.”

Cheng Hui said, “If you skip class again this semester, I’m afraid you will delay graduation. The guidance counsellor may also notify your parents.”

Sun Youmei didn’t seem to want her parents to be notified by the instructor either.

“Distance produces beauty,” Man Qingxuan said with a sneer: “You have to be busy with your own affairs while falling in love. When you are busy with your own affairs, you can keep him fresh by feeling like you are about to leave, right?”

When she said this, Sun Youmei suddenly deflated her mouth and her eyes went a bit red, “I also know that I can’t pester him every day, but I’m afraid that if I’m not by his side, he will go to another woman.”

Cheng Hui said, “I haven’t been in a relationship either, but I think you have to give him some space and trust in this thing, or he might feel…”

Sun Youmei added, “He would feel suffocated, right?…”

Cheng Hui didn’t speak. In fact, they all could tell that Sun Youmei understood it herself.

Sun Youmei suddenly cried and said, “But he has committed it many times before.”

The few of them looked at each other. They didn’t expect things to develop to such a point, yet they were also not very surprised by such a situation.

Sun Youmei cried and said, “We have been together for four years, but he actually took other little bitches to dinner behind my back, and he gave the bag I like to other girls too, woohoo…”

Everyone didn’t know how to comfort Sun Youmei. None of them had ever been in a relationship. In their eyes, why would she keep such a boy who cheats frequently? But they were not them, and the words “just break up” were too easy for them to say.

Sun Youmei was an adult, and she knew in her own heart whether she should break up or not. This matter seems to have been hidden in her heart for a long time, and her attitude can be seen from her gritting her teeth to conceal it.

Just when they didn’t know how to comfort Sun Youmei, she suddenly wiped away her tears and declared resolutely, “I can’t let those little bitches take him away. I can’t give him to those little bitches.”

    Look, this was her attitude.

The rest of them did not know whether they should oppose or support her, and maybe their attitudes were also not important to her…

Cheng Hui glanced at Wen Le, not knowing what to say.

Wen Le said, “Before I do things, I usually keep a Plan B for myself so as not to let myself reach a dead end.”

Sun Youmei only wiped tears from her eyes in a daze, and they weren’t sure if she had heard it.

When the time was up, Wen Le patted Cheng Hui and signalled to her that the mask should be removed, and the two went to the bathroom.

After they came out of the toilet, Sun Youmei seemed to be in a good mood and was looking down at her mobile phone.

Wen Le did her skincare and climbed onto her bed.

Just as she lay down, she heard a shout.

“Wen Le, you’re together with Zhou Kao??”

    “BBS has all blown up!”

I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 11

    Met with Another Confession

TN: We will finally be seeing our ML again in this chapter!!

The party was a huge success.

After the audience dispersed, the actors, logistics staff and teachers took pictures together.

In the end, the huge grand theatre was left to be sorted out by the members of the Student Union, some of the faculty and some of the class monitors.

Wen Le was pulled by the head of the department to talk for a while and then pulled by the juniors who had not yet left to take photos together.

By the end of the event, the logistics team had already mostly cleaned up the place.

All the garbage in the theatre was taken away by the audience, leaving only some of the stage layout/props. There were not many things to be cleared, but there were many people from logistics who had stayed behind.

At this time, there were not many people left in the grand theatre, and it was not convenient for Wen Le to keep wearing her formal dress, so she simply carried her bag to the dressing room to change out of it.

But she found that the door of the dressing room was locked.

Wen Le frowned and went to find the senior sister.

    “You haven’t changed yet?”

The senior sister frowned and said, “Yao Yao just said that all of them had cleaned up the dressing room, so she took away the key, and said that she would return the key directly tomorrow.”

The name didn’t sound familiar. Wen Le said, “Who is Yao Yao?”

The senior sister replied “Ah, she’s the one who was wearing the white dress today. I thought you knew each other.”

Wen Le realised who this Yao Yao was, and probably understood that this was another child’s play.

The senior sister also probably understood what was going on, and said, “Anyway, it’s so late into the night, no one will see. In fact, you can also change in the women’s toilet, but you know, once it’s dark, this women’s toilet…It’s hard to say.”

Wen Le smiled, “That’s okay, I’ll just keep wearing it first.”

The senior sister looked at the stage and said, “You can go back first. It’s almost cleaned up, and your clothes are not suitable for cleaning up. Do you need me to find someone to take you back?”

    Wen Le refused.

The senior sister took down a balloon from the side of the stage and gave it to Wen Le. The balloon was inserted into a pink plastic tube. It was the simplest toy that she used to go to the park with when she was a child. “Beauty, take one, don’t let those scumbags ruin it all. Take this as a memento of today’s event.”

Wen Le glanced at it, and at the boys behind her who were playing a game of stepping on the balloons.

Wen Le took it with a smile and replied, “Thank you, senior sister.”

Wen Le was carrying a bag in her left hand, a pink balloon in her right hand, and a school bag on her back. It was funny to see, no matter which angle you looked from.

She herself couldn’t help laughing when she thought about it.

Not long after Wen Le walked out of the Grand Theater, she heard a boy behind her shouting and calling her.

Wen Le thought it was a member of the student union of the faculty who still had some arrangements, but when she looked back, she saw a boy running towards her with a bouquet of flowers in his hand.

The smile on Wen Le’s face stiffened, please don’t let it be what she thought was going to happen?

TN: Haha Wen Le, your peach blossoms are just too many~

The boy ran to Wen Le and stood still, “Wen Le! You are really beautiful today! Your stage performance today was super great!”

Wen Le smiled very politely, “Thank you.”

The boy gushed about how glamorous Wen Le was tonight, to the point where even Wen Le felt goosebumps all over when she heard it.

Wen Le actually rejected so many boys before, but she still didn’t know whether it was better to listen patiently and then refuse seriously when encountering this situation, or if it was better to just shake her head and leave.

The former method seemed to give hope to the other party, while the latter seemed to be too merciless.

Wen Le stood still. Her thoughts had long drifted away, and the words of the boy in her ear seemed to have become muffled.

Wen Le couldn’t help but wonder, how did she use to refuse the others before?

In high school, Wen Le had been young and vigorous. With a temper worse than her current, she would turn away haughtily and leave, and her face looked even colder than it was now too.

After going to University, she had a much better temper, and she would refuse more tactfully, even directly intercepting the other party’s words, telling the other party not to say his confession. Later on, she also found a shield for such confessions.

    A shield…

    Zhou Kao…

Wen Le almost thought that she was hallucinating.

The Grand Theater was very close to the entrance of the school, and a long asphalt road led directly to the gate. From time to time, vehicles would pass by here.

At 9:30 in the evening, the street lights were a little dim, and an off-road SUV was slowly approaching.

Its lights gradually illuminated both sides of the slightly curved asphalt road that was not wide.

On the other side of the asphalt road, a tall and upright figure with long sleeves became clearer and clearer under the low beam of the car.

Wen Le gradually saw the excessively good-looking face clearly.

    It was Zhou Kao.

Wen Le just looked in that direction while the off-road SUV slowly drove away, blocking Wen Le’s sight, but in the end, the figure of that pedestrian was eventually exposed.

    It was Zhou Kao.

TN: kyaaa i’m sure this is where Wen Le’s heart skipped a beat~

The light obviously also allowed Zhou Kao to see the two people standing on the opposite side of the road clearly.

Zhou Kao stood still, facing Wen Le.

Above Zhou Kao’s head was a street lamp whose light was rather dim.

The soft light hit Zhou Kao’s body, portraying his outline more deeply and beautifully, just like a prince from a fairy tale – elegant, mysterious and beautiful.

It was just that Zhou Kao’s eyes were not as gentle as the prince’s.

He seemed to be drunk, the corners of his eyes were a little red, and his eyes were a little blurred, but there was a cold chill in addition to this blur.

    He didn’t seem very happy.

Wen Le completely forgot about the boy who was praising her with all his strength at that moment, and her eyes carefully traced the overly charming outline of  Zhou Kao under the light.

    Wen Le was a Libra.

And she had the necessary attributes of a Libra.

The two stood on opposite sides of the road, with a street lamp above their heads, shining a soft light upon them.

Wen Le sometimes felt that there was really an unexplainable fate in this world, that it was too much…

    It was fascinating.

The corner of Wen Le’s mouth curled as if she finally remembered where she was at this time.

And the boy holding the flowers who was trying to attract Wen Le’s attention also seemed to realise that something was wrong. He stopped and stared at the excessively excellent male on the opposite side, his eyes full of warnings and vigilance.

Wen Le didn’t care about the sight of the boy holding the flowers, and mouthed five words silently to Zhou Kao, “Help people to the end.”

Wen Le didn’t know if the other party could see her mouth shape clearly at such a distance, and whether he understood her lips, but Wen Le had an intuition that he understood what she meant.

Sure enough, Zhou Kao frowned slightly, stretched out his hand and pressed it on the centre of his eyebrows, then he began to ask a little impatiently, “Why are you again…”

    …being confessed to at night.

*TN: flashback to the previous chapters when Wen Le said there wouldn’t be a third time haha~

But Zhou Kao didn’t say the following words.

Zhou Kao stopped talking, strode forward and grabbed Wen Le’s wrist, “I’ll send you back to the dormitory.”

The corners of Wen Le’s mouth curved a little deeper.

The boy holding the flowers was like a beast who had his territory violated. He cursed and went to grab Wen Le’s other hand, “Are you sick!”

Zhou Kao’s nimble hands quickly blocked the boy from grabbing Wen Le’s hand and pulled Wen Le behind him.

Wen Le was guarded by Zhou Kao, and she didn’t seem to care about the current situation at all.

At such a close distance, she could smell the faint smell of alcohol on Zhou Kao’s body, mixed with the low-key smell of men’s perfume, which seemed unexpectedly mesmerising.

Zhou Kao looked at the boy coldly, and said lightly: “Things like that, do I really need to say it out loud? I thought you would understand.”

As Zhou Kao spoke, he glanced at Wen Le.

Wen Le understood his meaning, and with the free hand, she latched on to Zhou Kao’s arm while smiling softly, “Just send me till here, thank you for your thoughtfulness. It’s getting late, rest early, good night.”

The boy’s face was a little embarrassed, but he was a little fortunate that he didn’t say those three words in the end. He was also relieved that Wen Le had saved face for him.

Wen Le held on to Zhou Kao’s arm and left. Wen Le then sighed and said, “Seems that pulling the green tea trick* is sometimes quite useful.”

*green tea = An internet slang used to describe a young woman that likes to dress and act in a certain fashion in order to portray herself as pure and innocent i.e. like green tea.

Zhou Kao glanced at Wen Le, and Wen Le pretended not to notice. She started a conversation: “You’ve been drinking?”

TN: LOL not Zhou Kao totally judging Wen Le…

Zhou Kao gave a soft sigh and said, “A little bit.”

“It doesn’t look like a little bit, you seem to be drunk.”

“Enough to send you back to the dormitory.”

Zhou Kao looked at the things in Wen Le’s hands, then noticed Wen Le’s outfit and frowned, “Are you just hanging out like this in the middle of the night?”

Wen Le snorted disdainfully, “Please, what do you mean by in the middle of the night? The nightlife has just begun, okay?”

Zhou Kao chuckled lightly, “Yes, your nightlife is indeed later than others.”

Wen Le said, “Oh, because ultraviolet rays are not so strong at night, nocturnal activities are more conducive to protecting my skin.”

Zhou Kao sneered lightly, looked at the pink balloon in Wen Le’s hand, and said, “So the essential activity you have to do at night is to reject confessions. Tonight’s special event is a flashback to kindergarten?”

*TN: LOL I’m loving how savage drunk Zhou Kao is haha – okay last TN I swear!

Not for the first, not second, and not even the third or fourth time, Wen Le was unable to refute him. Wen Le looked up at Zhou Kao, and gazed at him for a moment before saying, “Do you know that your mouth will become mean when you are drunk?”

Zhou Kao pursed his lower lip and his voice became slightly weaker, “I’m not drunk, and this is just a statement of facts.”

Wen Le pointed to the bag she was carrying in her hands, and said, “If you weren’t drunk, how could you not help me carry the bag? Where did your gentlemanly demeanour go?”

Zhou Kao was taken aback for a moment and stretched out to get the bag Wen Le was holding on her wrist.

Wen Le chuckled, bastard, still insisting that he was not drunk.

Would you be so obedient if you weren’t drunk?

But the two people who left didn’t know, the moment they had turned around to leave, the logistics team in the Grand Theater had already packed up, locked the doors, and walked out of the theatre together. They were all also just about to leave.

Yet as soon as they came out, they saw the scene of Wen Le leaving with Zhou Kao and holding onto his arms at the entrance of the Grand Theater.

The facial features of the two of them were clearly visible under the street lamp’s light.

Wen Le from the School of Economics, holding onto the hot and newly-crowned school hunk Zhou Kao!

It was so thunderous, so explosive.

TN: Hehe hope you guys liked this chapter as much as I did! Uploaded a full chapter this time round ~

I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 10.2

    Hosting the Party

Wen Le was tidying up her skirt and couldn’t help but look up. At this glance, the cheers and shouts were even louder, and several boys put their hands to their mouths and shouted slightly exaggeratedly, “Goddess!”

    “Wen Le!”

    “We love you!”

The audience gave a burst of laughter upon hearing them.

Wen Le also laughed, glanced at the male host, and recited out the familiar lines that she had already memorized smoothly from her script.

Wen Le found that in fact, after facing such fanfare, she had lost her nervousness.

The event had been going well and nothing went wrong.

As a member of the student union of the faculty, Cheng Hui was called to the backstage to do logistics and was responsible for the grand lucky draw.

The lucky draw hadn’t started yet, so Cheng Hui was idling about. She grabbed a handful of melon seeds and stood by the trash can while watching the show and nibbling on the melon seeds.

After Wen Le announced the next act of the event and came down from the stage, she was called over by Cheng Hui.

    “Wanna have some?”

Wen Le waved her hand and drank a sip of water, “My throat will become dry when I’m up on stage later.”

Cheng Hui said, “When we went to rent this dress, it looked inconspicuous. I didn’t expect the lighting to work so well on the dress.”

Wen Le hadn’t seen the effect of wearing this dress under the lights. She was a little curious, and twirled around in front of Cheng Hui and smiled, “It’s a pity that I can’t see it myself. Does it look good?”

Cheng Hui pulled Wen Le and said, “Don’t turn around, someone is filming you from the back.”

“What are you afraid of,” Wen Le looked back. She really saw a guy she didn’t know holding up his mobile phone and filming her. It seemed that he was a little flustered being caught red-handed, but Wen Le was not angry. Instead, she faced the camera and gave a wink.

The guy didn’t seem to expect Wen Le’s reaction, and he was a little shocked.

Wen Le turned her head and stopped looking at him, and continued to chat with Cheng Hui.

Cheng Hui exclaimed, “Just having fun are you, nothing better to do in your spare time than to disturb others?”

“This is mainly because the level of straight men taking pictures is really irritating, so I can only try my best to be captured with style,” Wen Le replied with a disgusted “Tsk tsk”.

Cheng Hui snorted softly, “Do you think you can improve this situation?”

“Tomorrow, no, not even tomorrow, as long as you go to your school APP to take a look tonight, you can make yourself go mad.”

Wen Le spread her hands, “That’s why I didn’t download that app.”

    “Disturbing.”

The show on the stage ended, and Cheng Hui said, “Won’t you go up?”

Wen Le said, “This curtain call is hosted by the male host.”

Cheng Hui asked, “Are you nervous on stage?”

Wen Le replied, “It’s alright, not nervous.”

Cheng Hui, “I think you are also doing quite well.”

At the end of the male host’s curtain call, he saw a girl wearing a white tube top evening dress, a princess tiara, and a ten-centimetre stiletto walking on stage.

Cheng Hui poked Wen Le and said, “This is the first one among the girls who went to the student counsellor looking for trouble. She is also a class flower and looks rather pretty too. It seems that she learned to host when she was a child. The conditions at home are also quite good, so she is very proud. Be careful when you go on stage later. I’m not afraid of her, just more afraid of her making trouble.”

Wen Le glanced at the girl and nodded, “OK, don’t worry.”

The girl in the white dress played the piano on stage and took the microphone from the mike stand when she stepped down after her performance. The microphone should then be handed over to the host who would be going up the stage.

Wen Le walked over to her, and the girl in the white dress handed the microphone over. Wen Le reached out to pick up the microphone, but the girl suddenly let go of her hand. The microphone fell to the ground, and the whole theatre could hear the mike drop clearly because she did not turn off the microphone.

It turns out someone was trying to create a scene here.

The girl in the white dress put a hand to her chest and whispered, “I’m sorry, my skirt is a bit short, can you pick it up for me?”

Wen Le rolled her eyes in her heart, that’s all you’ve got?

    Isn’t this a too low-level trick?

Wen Le pulled out a fake smile and said softly, “Sure.”

So Wen Le bent over and picked up the microphone.

The staff on the stage were moving the piano from the stage, and the sound of footsteps and whispered conversations could be heard clearly in their ears.

As soon as Wen Le’s hand touched the microphone, the girl in her pair of “bling bling” little high heels walked to Wen Le’s hand and looked down at Wen Le condescendingly.

Wen Le noticed but remained silent, holding the microphone and was about to get up.

But instead, she saw the girl swaying, as if she was about to fall, and the thin high heels on her feet were about to step on Wen Le’s hands.

Wen Le chuckled in her heart, fished her arm up, and hooked one of the girl’s legs against the wall fiercely.

Wen Le could hear a “boom”, and the girl’s back and head were mounted against the wall, which seemed to have hit the wall quite heavily.

The girl was in a daze for a while and didn’t seem to react in time.

The girl’s hair had been knocked loose during the accident because she was carried on one leg by Wen Le, but the short skirt flew up, revealing flesh-coloured undergarments, and she looked so embarrassed.

The step down from the stage was actually on the far right side of the auditorium. Although the position was a bit skewed, the audience sitting in the auditorium on the far right still had a panoramic view of the scene.

At this time, the two of them moved very delicately.

Wen Le held one of the girl’s legs in her arm and raised it high against the wall, and the girl’s undergarments were exposed.

But at this moment, Wen Le leaned into the girl’s ear and said, “Tricks of a little kid.”

At this moment, there was already a commotion in the audience.

But Wen Le had already schooled her expression and walked on stage with composed manners to announce the next segment of the show.

The girl stared at Wen Le with a pair of red-rimmed eyes. She directed a deadly glare at Wen Le, with so much hatred that she wished to eat Wen Le alive.

The girl went down the stage bitterly and walked to the auditorium. Her friend hesitated for a moment and poked her, and whispered, “Yao Yao, what are you doing? Your under…undergarments are all exposed.”

When the girl known as Yao Yao heard the words, she saw that her little white dress had been rolled up by her, so she had stepped down the stage with a section of undergarments exposed.

Yao Yao was so embarrassed that she couldn’t wait to find a hole to hide in, she clenched her hands tightly together, and re-organized her clothes vigorously.

When the girl saw that she was in a bad mood, her voice was a little low, “Al-also, hai-hair.”

Yao Yao hammered her seat even more angrily when she heard the words, “Wen Le!”

TN: LOL hate to say this but you asked for it lady hehe. Our Wen Le was just minding her own business but you had to try some tricks on her…..

  • I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 10.1

I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 10.1

    Hosting the Party

As a large faculty with a huge number of students, the School of Economics applied for the largest theatre in the school to host the opening ceremony party.

At six o’clock in the evening, Wen Le arrived backstage.

The xuejie in charge of the stage glanced at Wen Le’s makeup, shook her head and said, “Wen Le, this makeup is not good. With so many stage lights shining on you, it will look very dull. The makeup must be bold and thick. Look at the male host.”

Wen Le glanced at the male host, and the thick layer of makeup on his face seemed to be a bit scary. The male host smiled with a good temper and said, “Don’t look at how scary it looks right now, just wait until you are on the stage and it will look okay.”

Wen Le nodded and said, “Alright.”

Wen Le carried a big bag with her dress in her hands and a school bag on her back. She found the door of the dressing room, knocked on it, and pushed the door in.

Inside the door was a group of girls who were helping each other with makeup and clothes. When Wen Le came in, they all looked in the direction of Wen Le, said hello then continued to lower their heads to do the work on their hands.

There were three dressing tables in total but they were all occupied already. Wen Le waited for a while and decided to get dressed first.

Wen Le was embarrassed to change her clothes in front of others, so she found a temporary changing room made with a cloth curtain in a small space, and changed into her dress. The pink dress was very long that it draped over her feet. The fluffy skirt gathered tightly at the waist to accentuate her thin waist and the chest was designed with a tube top, but all the skin exposed was covered by a layer of tulle of the same colour, which was still in accordance with Wen Le’s conservative yet timeless classic style.

The style of the dress was very simple, but having a simple style also meant that it would not be too tacky.

Wen Le was wearing a pink dress, her face still had the light makeup she had painted when she first came, and parts of her long black hair were braided into two braids and fixed up into a bun, while the rest of her hair was left down in its charming and elegant curls.

Wen Le opened the curtain and walked out, and the lively dressing room went quiet for a while.

    So beautiful.

Sweet yet charming at the same time.

Wen Le seemed to be unaware of other people’s movements. Her eyes gazed down a little and her long eyelashes fluttered slightly. Wen Le looked down at her feet, picked up the big skirt with both hands, and carefully passed through the school bags and boxes placed randomly on the ground. At this time, a dressing table happened to be empty, and Wen Le sat down with her backpack.

Recalling the appearance of the male host, Wen Le began to apply a thick layer of foundation to her face. Because she had to do heavy makeup, she touched up her eyebrows, eyeshadow, and eyeliner, but Wen Le felt that such heavy makeup was really not good-looking, so she simply added long false eyelashes. Although this was still exaggerated, it would make the make-up more harmonious as a whole.

Her lips were originally painted light pink, which was very suitable for this pink dress. However, to match this face of heavy makeup, Wen Le simply removed the pink lipstick and applied a bold red lipstick instead.

Number 400 of brand A was also a shade explodingly pretty.

Wen Le got up and looked at herself in the dressing mirror, and still felt that something was missing. The dress was in a very simple style, with the same shade of pink throughout. Only two inconspicuous roses of the same colour were embroidered in a place covered by tulle, and there were no accessories on her hair. Overall, the look seemed a little too plain.

Indeed, she still needed the gift from her father.

Wen Le took out two boxes no bigger than the size of her palms from her schoolbag and opened them. The pure pink morganite earrings and ring shone brightly in the light.

Wen Le put on the jewellery and looked at herself in the mirror again.

    Perfect.

Wen Le packed up her things, stored them in the place where the class monitor was taking care of the bags and went out to find the male host to review the event process and host script.

It was almost half past six at this time, and the audience had already begun to enter one after another.

The male host was talking to the xuejie, and Wen Le went over to greet them.

The male host hadn’t reacted yet, but the xuejie exclaimed “the f*ck” and pulled Wen Le closer to check out, “You’re so beautiful even with such heavy makeup, it’s really too much!”

Wen Le smiled and said, “Xuejie is also super beautiful today.”

The xuejie laughed and scolded, “You’re just trying to flatter me, aren’t you!”

As she was talking, she noticed the ring on Wen Le’s hand, and her eyes widened in shock, “Wen Le, you are too good at this. This pink crystal, my god, it’ll get a young girl’s heart bursting.”

“From which website did you buy this necklace and ring set? It’s so beautiful,”

Which website could Wen Le have bought it from? She nonsensically replied, “There’s no website link. I saw it at a roadside stall when I was shopping, only two hundred yuan.”

The xuejie didn’t think that what Wen Le had would be genuine. She also knew Wen Le’s family background, because she helped the student counsellor handle the intake of freshman students. At that time, she also knew that Wen Le was a child from a poor village in a southwestern province.

The event process started after having a few small chats.

Around 6:45 pm, her roommate also arrived. Wen Le said hello to the male host and went out to have a chat with her.

The two of them were talking in a corner backstage. This corner was actually not remote. They could still see the audience in the grand theatre through the side door.

Wen Le glanced around and saw that the seats on the two floors were full. Wen Le said, “Why are there so many people?”

Cheng Hui replied, “Because other than our faculty alone, many people from other faculties have also come.”

After chatting for only a while, she was called away.

At 7 o’clock in the evening, the event officially started. Wen Le took a deep breath, put on a smile, and walked on the stage with the male host.

Before she could find her position, there was a burst of applause and whistles from the audience.

Wen Le was tidying up her skirt and couldn’t help but look up. At this glance, the cheers and shouts were even louder, and several boys put their hands to their mouths and shouted slightly exaggeratedly, “Goddess!”

I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 9.2

    A Set of Jewellery

Wen Le picked up the phone with some doubt, “Hey Dad…”

Seeing Wen Le hang up the phone, Cheng Hui said, “What’s the matter?”

Wen Le said, “My dad actually came to the capital and said he wanted to take the opportunity to see me and bring me to dinner.”

Cheng Hui glanced at the time, it was not yet 5 pm, “Don’t you have a rehearsal at 7 pm? You should be able to make it if you hurry back after dinner. Don’t forget. I’ll take the dress back for you, you can go meet your dad directly. We can set another meet-up next time.”

According to the address given by her father, it was a high-end Western restaurant in the great commerce building. Wen Le was a little puzzled, why would her father choose such a place, but she didn’t think much about it. She looked down at what she was wearing, a black dress and white high heels. Although she came out in a hurry today, it was not shabby-looking.

Wen Le walked into the room booked by her father and saw Wen Tianqi sitting at the dining table in a suit and shoes. A person who was nearly 50 years old looked only 30 or 40 years old because of good care. The meticulously combed hair and the gold wire glasses on the bridge of his nose made him look like a business elite.

Therefore, appearance is always deceptive, Wen Le sighed in her heart.

    “Dad.”

Wen Tianqi looked up at his daughter, “Le Le, come in.”

During the meal, Wen Tianqi asked Wen Le about her daily life. He was always busy with his career and handed his only daughter to her grandparents. He always felt a little guilty for not being able to accompany this daughter enough.

Wen Le shared some things related to school, which were all trivial things, but Wen Tianqi listened very seriously.

After the dessert was served, the waiter retreated, and the room door was closed again. Wen Le asked again  “Dad, why did you come to the capital?”

Wen Tianqi said, “I have been in the capital on a business trip these few days, and I happened to be near here, so I wanted to come to see you.”

“How many days will Dad stay in the capital?”

Wen Tianqi said, “About three days. I will be a little busy after that, I’m afraid I won’t be able to spend your birthday with you.”

After this mention, Wen Le then remembered that her birthday was coming soon. She smiled and said, “If dad hadn’t said, I would’ve forgotten about it.”

Wen Tianqi said, “Although I can’t spend your birthday with you, I brought you a birthday gift.”

Wen Tianqi picked up a paper bag by his hand and handed it to Wen Le, “Your Aunt Yu told me a few days ago that you will be the host of your college’s freshman opening ceremony tomorrow, right?”

Wen Le took the bag and nodded.

Wen Tianqi said, “Have you gotten your dress for the party ready?”

Wen Le said: “I just went to rent it, it’s a pink dress.”

Wen Tianqi said, “Just nice, you should be able to use this gift.”

Wen Le was a little curious when she heard the words, and took out the black box from the paper bag, “What is this?”

Wen Le opened the box and looked at what was in it, her pretty eyes widened, “It’s so beautiful.”

A set of jewellery lay quietly in the box, twinkling with a fascinating glow under the light of the room.

This was a set of jewellery made mainly of pink morganite. The necklace was decorated with a full 30-carat drop-shaped pink morganite, while the pair of earrings and ring each had a 10-carat pink morganite. The crystal clear pink morganite was designed in the shape of flowers on the ring and earrings, which were surrounded by countless small diamonds, and looked simply beautiful.

No woman would not be moved by such beauty, and Wen Le was enamoured almost instantly.

Wen Le had seen a lot of jewellery since she was a child, having been brought up by her grandmother. Grandma was a very particular and elegant old lady. She had three large cases of jewellery and looked like it’d been around for several years. Wen Le thought it was probably the most valuable thing in their family.

But no matter how valuable it was, it had not been able to change the lives of their family. Their family still couldn’t afford colour TVs or a car.

Wen Le thought that her grandmother should love these jewels very much. Even if her family was in decline, she still refused to pawn these jewels. Every time she saw those beautiful jewels, Wen Le would always feel the sorrow of the fallen nobles while being enamoured by the jewels.

Now, she would also have her own jewellery?

Wen Tianqi saw that his daughter liked the gift he gave very much and was in a pretty good mood.

He said, “Your grandmother called me the other day and complained to me, saying that when a girl enters adulthood, she should have some of her own assets. How can she not have a decent set of jewellery?

Dad then realised that it was Dad who has been negligent. Your grandmother has been accumulating jewellery for you since you were born, but those are not suitable for daily wear. So Dad went to find someone to order you something that can be worn daily. This set was designed by your aunt Yu for you. Do you like it?”

Wen Le’s gaze was still on the jewellery, and she nodded in a daze. But she was calculating the price of the jewellery in her heart. If the jewels on the jewellery were real, Wen Le calculated the price, took a gulp of air, and couldn’t hold back from blurting out, “Dad, did you pawn off Grandma’s jewellery? Where did our family get the money to buy this jewellery?”

Wen Tianqi heard her, and his expression turned complicated with a loss of words.

His daughter had always been very exemplary since she was a child, which also made him very proud. Others always praised Wen Le for being smart, but Wen Tianqi sometimes felt that his daughter was actually not that smart, and even a little stupid in his opinion.

TN: Papa Wen, I totally agree with you~

He didn’t know why his daughter had felt that their family was poor since she was young, and thought she was a left-behind child from the mountains.

Perhaps this was more or less related to her grandfather’s education method.

But after discovering that such a false perception would stimulate Wen Le’s unruliness and fighting spirit, he did not try to deliberately stop it. Under such a false perception, Wen Le was indeed very motivated and hardworking, and even without the supervision and guidance of her family, was admitted to the top A university in the country.

Wen Tianqi didn’t plan to tell her daughter the truth now. We’ll just let this idiot discover the truth by herself then.

So Wen Tianqi smiled and said, “No, that’s all your grandma’s lifeline, how can it be pawned off? These are all artificial crystals, which are worthless. They’re not as expensive as you think.”

Wen Le breathed a sigh of relief when she heard the words, and said, “That’s great, thank you, Dad. I like it very much.”

Wen Tianqi said in his heart, when will my stupid daughter wake up and realise the truth?

    TN: Again Papa Wen, I wonder when too~ ^^;;

Wen Tianqi suddenly remembered something and asked, “Le Le, you didn’t lose the two keys that your granddad and dad gave you when you just started college, did you?”

“Keys?”, Wen Le was taken aback for a moment, then took out the keys from her bag and said, “They’re here, haven’t lost it.”

Wen Tianqi said, “That’s good, please don’t ever lose it.”

Wen Le put the key away, “Don’t worry, I won’t lose them.”

Wen Tianqi sighed in his heart, the stupid daughter doesn’t even know why she was given these keys.

Wen Tianqi felt helpless, and led the topic back to the birthday gift, saying, “This set of jewellery matches your dress just nice. Tomorrow you can wear this set of jewellery on stage. You will definitely be the most beautiful princess in the audience.”

Wen Le hesitated and said, “But, Dad, although this gift is beautiful, it’s a bit too over the top. I’m just a host, not the protagonist of the event.”

She looked at her father and couldn’t bear to refuse, and this set of jewellery really was beautiful. She said, “How about, I’ll just wear the earrings and ring.”

Wen Tianqi nodded, “Yes, Le Le’s way of thinking is right.”

His daughter was really beautiful and kind.

Even if it was a set of artificial crystals, it was definitely not cheap. Such a valuable gift was not suitable to be kept at the dormitory. In the end, Wen Le only took away the earrings and the ring. She planned to return it to her father after having another dinner with him once the event was done to let him keep them away safely.

I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 9.1

    A Set of Jewellery

“Are you going to the library tonight?” Cheng Hui asked.

Wen Le glanced at the time and shook her head, “No, I have to find the male host to go through the script. Did you forget, I have a rehearsal tomorrow afternoon?”

“Ah, that’s right, the day after tomorrow is the opening ceremony for freshmen to start school,” Man Qingxuan propped her chin and said while fiddling with her mobile phone:

“Other dormitories have been preparing programs these days, is it just our dormitory that isn’t doing anything?”

Bao Xiaofan took a sip of yoghurt and said, “There is a host in our dormitory, how’s that doing nothing?”

Man Qingxuan replied, “But several people went to find the instructor a few days ago for that host position.”

Cheng Hui said, “It’s not enough to make trouble on the Internet, they still want to go to the teacher to make trouble?”

“The instructor didn’t agree, so they went to the head of the department. The head of the department said that this was the decision of the board, and they were so angry that they yelled on the Internet again,” Man Qingxuan added.

“This matter is not over yet. I can even think of how they will be gossiping about Wen Le after she finishes hosting.”

Wen Le was packing her things in her bag and smiled when she heard the words, “I expected this a long time ago. If they want to talk, just let them talk. Anyway, I managed to get this opportunity, letting them say a few words wouldn’t cost me anything.”

“That’s right, just let them talk.”

Bao Xiaofan was curious and said, “Oh, who is the male host? Was it also decided by the instructor?”

Wen Le said, “The male host is Li Xuyang from the third class. I don’t know exactly how he was selected.”

“I know that Li something guy, Li Xuyang, is quite handsome, but,” Man Qingxuan smacked her lips and said, “if he was just a little taller, he would be great.”

Bao Xiaofan sneered softly, “Every time I see him, I always feel he looks like a chicken with feathers sticking out unevenly everywhere.”

“Hahahaha, what kind of a description is this, a chicken with feathers sticking out unevenly everywhere?” Cheng Hui smiled.

“That’s right, he looks just like that, his neck looks like that,” Bao Xiaofan said, then stretched her neck out like a chicken.

Man Qingxuan became angry, “What the hell, now I can’t even look him in the eye after this. You’re so annoying, ruining another handsome guy! I hate you!”

There was another burst of laughter in the dormitory.

Seeing that Wen Le was almost finished packing up, Cheng Hui asked, “What time will you be back? Better bring along the dormitory key.”

“Around 8 pm. If you hadn’t mentioned it, I would’ve forgotten,” Wen Le took out the keys from the drawer and heard a crisp clattering sound.

Man Qingxuan said casually, “Wen Le, why do you have a pile of keys, like a property rental lady.”

As she said this, she laughed.

Wen Le also laughed, glanced at her keys, as if she herself too didn’t understand, and said, “Yeah, it is pretty heavy.”

After listening to her roommates, Wen Le also became quite curious about what the male host looked like.

When she saw the person in real life, Wen Le knew why Bao Xiaofan had described him that way.

Li Xuyang looked handsome and fair, had a thin figure, and was not very tall. But he should have also been about 175 cm. At a glance, it could be seen that this was a boy who was from a good background. He was also probably a boy who had been loved and cared for very much by his family. His slender chin was slightly raised, and his body was full of almost childish pride, but it also slightly resembled a chick with yellow fluff with its neck stretched out.

The first time Wen Le saw the boy, she almost laughed out loud when she thought of Bao Xiaofan’s description. It was so hard to hold back the laughter to maintain her image, but she also couldn’t help but think of Zhou Kao.

Wen Le felt a little strange. He was obviously a person of the same age, and Zhou Kao had a maturity in his eyes that made it easy to ignore his age, yet the person in front of her seemed to be a somewhat naive younger brother.

    Weird.

When the roommates returned to the dormitory in the evening, Wen Le had finished washing up and was lying on the bed reading a book.

There was excitement in their eyes, and as soon as they closed the dormitory door, they began to scream, “Ah ah Le Le! Guess who we saw in the library?”

Wen Le turned her gaze from the book to Man Qingxuan’s face, “Who?”

    Man Qingxuan said, “Zhou Kao!”

Wen Le’s eyebrows jumped inexplicably, “So what?”

Bao Xiaofan was excited: “The fuck! He is really handsome! Super super super super handsome!”

Man Qingxuan said, “You absolutely don’t know what happened!”

“The department belle and her classmates from the Department of Foreign Languages next door were also taking self-study classes in the library, and they also saw Zhou Kao. So she let her classmates go up to him and ask for his WeChat ID.”

Man Qingxuan and Bao Xiaofan both took on roles, one pretending to be Zhou Kao and the other pretending to be the department belle.

Man Qingxuan pointed to Cheng Hui in the distance and said, “Hey handsome, can I help my classmates get a WeChat…”

Bao Xiaofan worked hard to imitate the appearance of Zhou Kao, and when Man Qingxuan said the word WeChat, she put up her index finger to her lips.

Man Qingxuan pretended to be stunned, staring at Bao Xiaofan frantically, as if she had forgotten what to say, while Bao Xiaofan turned and left with a cold face.

After acting to this point, the two of them began to scream frantically again, “Ah ah ah! I’m going to die!”

“He just put his fingers on his lips like this, fuck me, it’s so sexy!”

Cheng Hui also sighed, “This man is simply amazing.”

    Man Qingxuan followed suit, “Absolutely.”

    Bao Xiaofan, “Absolutely.”

Man Qingxuan said with great fighting spirit, “Wen Le! Take him down!”

Cheng Hui also encouraged, “Yes! With your beauty, go up and seduce him! Let him kneel down before you and conquer him! You must not go easy on the other vixens!”

Wen Le seemed to have thought of something, so she cursed the dog man in his heart, and slowly turned her back to her roommate, “Ugly rejection.”

    “Such disappointing ladies!”

There were no classes in the seventh or eighth periods in the afternoon the next day. Wen Le took Cheng Hui to find the address sent by xuejie to rent the dress to host the event.

But judging from the name, the rental dress shop definitely was not as dilapidated and deserted as it looked.

Wen Le and Cheng Hui stood downstairs of the shop, looking at the dilapidated building, speechless.

After a long time, Cheng Hui said, “Le Le, are you sure this is the place?”

Wen Le nodded mechanically and said, “According to the address given by xuejie, it’s right here.”

Cheng Hui took a deep breath and said, “This place can probably be used to make horror movies at night. Luckily you didn’t come by yourself!”

Wen Le took Cheng Hui’s hand, “Let’s go, warrior.”

The two of them followed the peeling cement steps to the second floor, walked through the door, and couldn’t help but sigh. This storefront really matched its exterior appearance.

The small storefront was full of clothes hangers, all of which were all kinds of unsophisticated and vulgar dresses.

Wen Le and Cheng Hui looked through the dresses, and the more they looked, the more resigned they felt.

    It was really ugly.

In the end, the two picked three out of the hundreds of dresses that could still be considered as acceptable.

A well-behaved black hip-wrapped dress, a blue slim-fit dress decorated with a melee of diamonds, and finally a formal dress with a big pink silk skirt.

Cheng Hui said, “You wear all these three pieces very well. Which one do you want?”

Wen Le looked at these three dresses, and for some reason, Aunt Yu’s words sounded in her mind. At that time, when she mentioned to Aunt Yu that she was going to host the freshman opening event, Aunt Yu said, “Le Le has fair skin and looks best in light-coloured dresses. Be it white or pink, they all look good.”

Wen Le casually pointed to the long pink dress and said, “Just this one then.”

Wen Le went to pay, the boss opened a cheque. Cheng Hui took it over and had a closer look. 120 dollars, you really do pay for what you get.

When the two of them took the subway back to school, they were planning what to eat for dinner on the way, but Wen Le received a call at this time.

Wen Le saw that it was dad.

TN: Ooooo Wen Le’s father finally makes an appearance!

I’m Actually Really Rich Chapter 8.2

    To decline royalty

Although Sun Youmei’s boyfriend was bought into a diploma mill* by his family, he doesn’t go to class. He drove around with his friends all day long, exploring the world and playing around.

*diploma mill sells college diplomas that require little or no academic work

Cheng Hui panicked a little, “Maybe it’s just that we are too responsible, or we just can’t see her going astray. It just feels quite scary seeing her like this. But when we advise her she doesn’t like to listen either, and acts like we’re jealous of her and says some unlucky things. Yet, we can’t just watch her…I always think her boyfriend is unreliable. She won’t be going back to the dormitory to sleep tonight again…”

Wen Le was silent for a moment when she heard the words, then said “Until this kind of thing hasn’t happened, no one can tell for sure. If she still doesn’t come back tomorrow, then we’ll contact the guidance counsellor.”

“Yes, I have got to contact the guidance counsellor,” Cheng Hui said a little irritably, “But she will blame us for complaining about her when she comes back. F*ck! We must be really d*mn blind to be concerned, we shouldn’t care about her at all!”

Wen Le laughed out loud when she heard these words. It was not for no reason that Cheng Hui had such a good reputation amongst the girls. Wen Le smiled and kissed Cheng Hui on the face, “Our dorm leader is very kind indeed, hahaha!”

Cheng Hui touched her face swiftly, and sure enough, she saw a touch of red on her fingers. She couldn’t help being annoyed and stretched out to hit Wen Le on the arm, “Annoying, you’re so annoying! Don’t you know if your lipstick will leave a mark or not, what kind of lipstick is this!”

Wen Le smiled and avoided her beating, when her phone suddenly sounded, signalling a text message.

Wen Le took it out and had a look, then showed some doubt in her eyes.

Cheng Hui leaned forward and asked, “What?”

Wen Le said, “The courier has arrived, but I haven’t bought anything recently.”

Just as she was trying to think who the courier came for, the phone rang again, and it was Aunt Yu.

As soon as Wen Le saw the call, she knew who the courier was from. She gave Cheng Hui a gesture and picked up the phone,

    “Hello, Ah Yi*.”

*Ah Yi = Aunt in Chinese. In chinese culture, the younger generation normally addresses the older generation as auntie/uncle regardless of whether they are related by blood.

Aunt Yu’s voice came from the earpiece, “Lele, have you received the express from Ah Yi?”

Sure enough, it was Aunt Yu, and Wen Le replied, “I got it already.”

    “What’s your weight today?”

    “90.25”

    Wen Le replied, “90.25*.”

*assuming 90.25 is in jin/catty, it approximates to 54.15kg.

Aunt Yu remarked,  “Lele’s weight control has always been very good. Have you exercised recently?”

Wen Le said, “No, there are a lot of things going on since school just started, and there has been no time to exercise.”

Aunt Yu replied, “Then you must remember to exercise on time once you are done with this busy period. You still have to rely on exercise to stay in shape. Ah yi still recommends you to sign up for a dance or yoga class, so that you won’t be bored by yourself and not be consistent in exercising.”

Wen Le said, “Okay Ah yi, if there are fewer classes this semester, I will sign up for a class.”

Aunt Yu asked again, “What type of food do you like to eat recently?”

Wen Le replied, “Recently there have been more gatherings, so more barbecues and the like, and some heavy flavours.”

“Is there acne on your face? You better use the things Ah yi mailed to you well, you have to take good care of your skin. Your diet should be lighter…”

When Wen Le hung up the phone, Cheng Hui said, “Your Ah yi mailed you something again?”

    Wen Le nodded.

Cheng Hui said: “Aw,  I also want to have an Ah yi like that.”

Although Wen Le grew up in the mountains, she had never lacked beautiful clothing since she was a child.

Aunt Yu used to be Wen Le’s favourite aunt in her childhood, because every time Aunt Yu came, she would bring her all kinds of beautiful clothes.

When she was a child, Wen Le never thought about why Aunt Yu would bring her nice clothes every time. Later when she was older, Wen Le learned from the grandfather-butler that Aunt Yu was their tailor.

It was also at that time that Wen Le learned that a butler was in the same line of profession as a tailor. Before that, she had always thought that the grandfather-butler’s surname was “Guan*”.

*butler is called “guan jia” in chinese, so Wen Le had thought that was his name literally and that his surname was “guan” LOL

Then as she grew up, Wen Le came into contact with more people and discovered something unique in their family.

Although their family stayed in a big house, they lived in the mountains. Although their family had butlers, tailors, and cooks, they seemed to be family members living together, and their family seemed to have no money to pay their salaries.

*TN: how can this be Wen Le…..sometimes I really doubt her intelligence hahaha

So when she got older, Wen Le finally understood. Her family was actually a group of stubborn, declining nobles who lived in the mountains and indulged in the glamorous life of the old society.

A shabby, but strong-faced wretch who struggled to maintain the glamorous lifestyle of the past.

Wen Le had come to this understanding, but she came to pity the situation more and more. After all, it was all the fault of poverty.

This kind of idea did not make Wen Le feel inferior, but instead allowed her to evolve into having an ambitious and self-motivated fighter-like existence.

She was just probably a weirdo.

Wen Le and Cheng Hui moved a large box back to the dormitory, and the next step was the happiest moment –  unpacking the package.

Clothes, perfumes, cosmetics, and even bags and shoes were all packed in such a box, which showed how big this box was.

The clothes were all in Wen Le’s style. Cheng Hui unfolded a long dress. It was a fiery red long dress, and its fabric was slightly thicker. The shoulder and waist lines were outlined beautifully, and the long skirt was layered at the lower end, blooming like a rose.

Faced with such a dress, even if it was the tough guy style like Cheng Hui, she couldn’t help exclaiming,

“Wow! Lele, your aunt’s vision is simply amazing. My god, it’s so beautiful. If you go out in this dress, you will have to hire loads of bodyguards. I’m afraid the boys in our school will go crazy!”

Wen Le’s gaze was also attracted by the dress, and murmured, “Indeed…It’s so beautiful…”

“But isn’t it not suitable for wearing at school?” Wen Le said.

Cheng Hui said, “You can wear it on a date. When you have someone you fancy one day, you can wear this dress to find him. I guarantee that he will bow down at your red dress and sing praises the next moment, hahaha.”

    Wen Le also laughed.

At this moment, the dormitory door was pushed open, and the two turned their heads, only to see Sun Youmei walking in.

Sun Youmei’s gaze was immediately attracted by the red dress in Cheng Hui’s hands, and then fell on the big box that Wen Le brought back, a trace of contempt flashed in her eyes.

Sun Youmei sauntered to the desk, took something and put it in her bag, and said, “Came back to get something, you guys can continue.”

    After speaking, she left.

Sun Youmei closed the dormitory door and rolled her eyes. She thought of Wen Le’s big solid-color courier box without a logo, and sneered disdainfully, muttering in a low voice, “Cheap goods.”

TN: who’s the one carrying the fake A-grade goods….cough cough

Wen Le always brought back such a box every once in a while since she started college. The boxes were always full of clothes and bags. Her clothes were good-looking, but when Sun Youmei asked what brands they were from, Wen Le would reply that they were not branded goods.

And there were indeed no brand logos on those clothes and bags.

Sun Youmei also thought of Wen Le’s background. The poor ghosts who came out of the mountains, where did they have the money to get such good clothes?  Hopefully, they weren’t either donated by others or scoured from the second-hand market.

Tsk tsk, how would these poor people know that if one dressed cheaply, then they would also become cheap.

Looking at the bag worth tens of thousands in her hand, Sun Youmei smiled in satisfaction and walked away.

Sun Youmei slammed the cabinet door twice, her voice so aggrieved that she cried, “What the heck! Why do all of you keep bullying me?”

Rest of the people in the dormitory: ?

After speaking, she kicked the cabinet door, and without regard for the confused eyes of the others in the dormitory, turned around and ran out of the dormitory. The dormitory door was thrown open violently.

Rest of the people in the dormitory: !

Bao Xiaofan’s eyes opened wide in shock. She threw her mobile phone on the bed, got up, and started complaining about Youmei while putting on her shoes.

She was about to give chase while saying, “What the f*ck? What does she mean, trying to be shameless here, is she? Blaming others for bullying her for the key that she lost herself, I’ll be damned! If she doesn’t explain herself today, she shouldn’t even think of entering this door…”

Cheng Hui and Wen Le hurriedly caught up, and even dragged Bao Xiaofan back with a hug. Bao Xiaofan’s eyes had turned red in anger, “What the hell, who bullied who? She alone bullied us all in the dormitory and we still have to be wronged by her.”

Wen Le hugged Bao Xiaofan’s waist, passed her hands under her armpits and stretched out to pat Bao Xiaofan on the chest, whispering gently, “Don’t be angry, let’s not be angry ah~”

Cheng Hui spit out, “Okay, okay, what can you do if you chase after her? Scold or fight with her? She is shameless, but you can not follow her to be shameless too?”

Bao Xiaofan took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, “Aiyo, this bad temper of mine.”

Man Qingxuan turned and glanced back, and said, “But…She doesn’t seem to have taken any books either. Don’t tell me that she won’t be going to class in the afternoon again?”

    “Whatever suits her.”

In the afternoon, Lao Yang did the roll-call in class, and Sun Youmei really did not turn up.

Lao Yang closed the roll-call and said, “For those who haven’t turned up for the roll-call twice, you won’t have your usual grades this semester.”

Lao Yang’s gaze swept across the students, and the pen in his hand tapped twice on the cover of the roll-call sheet, “In addition, I want to talk to your guidance counsellor.”

Suddenly, there was a rustling noise of discussion in the class, and the people in the dormitory couldn’t help but look at each other, yet they too didn’t know what to say about this situation.

They were not malicious to Sun Youmei. She was just a little irritating sometimes, but ultimately, it was just some small conflicts. It was impossible for people to get along without some conflicts. Interacting and getting along with each other were just processes of getting to know each other better. No one was perfect. There was no need to speak ill of each other and spread malice. Superficial harmony was the hypocrisy of adults and a way for adults to spread goodwill in the world.

After hesitating for a moment, Cheng Hui eventually still took out her mobile phone and sent a message to Sun Youmei.

[The teacher has done the roll-call, and wants to deduct your usual grades, in addition to contacting the guidance counsellor. Do you want to ask the guidance counsellor for leave in advance?

The message was sent out, but no reply was received even after a long while.

Cheng Hui glanced at the other roommates and shook her head.

After class, Wen Le received a call from the xuejie of the student union of the college.

*xuejie = senior sister in school

“Wen Le, the teacher has read the draft you wrote for hosting and said it’s great. I will send you the list of guests who are sure to attend the party later, and you can add it to your script…You don’t know the male host yet, right? I’ll send you his WeChat profile, and you can make an appointment with him to discuss the host script.”

A week ago, the guidance counsellor found Wen Le and said that they hoped that she could be the female host of the freshman entrance ceremony this year.

Wen Le was taken aback when she heard this. This was because she had never learned to host, and as far as she knew, there were still many people in the academy who were good at hosting and competing for this opportunity.

Wen Le knew what kind of disputes and gossip would arise if she were to take on this task, but she had never been afraid of that.

She was actually even more determined to take it on, the moment the guidance counsellor mentioned it. An ambitious girl like her could not let go of any chance to get this opportunity.

Wen Le actually knew the reason why nobody was not appealing and gossiping about the decision, and why everyone was tacitly aware of it.

It was because of her good image because she was more famous, and because she could bring better publicity to the Student Union.

Wen Le knew all of these things.

As the beneficiary of being favoured, it was impossible for Wen Le not to know that this was more or less unfair to the other competitors. Wen Le didn’t want to defend the rights and interests of the other competitors. She just wanted to appease her small conscience, so Wen Le still asked why it was her.

The guidance counsellor only said this, “Because your results are ranked first in the cohort.”

Thus Wen Le accepted the position.

On campus, this reason seemed invincible.

While spurning her hypocrisy, Wen Le thought that perhaps her stage performance was not better than that of a more experienced person, but her hosting draft had to convince them otherwise.

Recollecting on the incident regarding herself from a week ago, Wen Le replied, “Okay, xuejie.”

After thinking about it for a while, the xuejie said again:

“Then there is the outfit issue. You may need to pick it up by yourself. I will send you the location. You can select your pick and then bring it back tomorrow. Pay for it yourself first, and pass me the receipt. The student union will reimburse it. Will need you to return the outfit the day after tomorrow……”

As soon as Wen Le hung up the phone, she saw Cheng Hui walking over and said, “I’m going to pick my outfit tomorrow. Are you free to come with me?”

Cheng Hui said, “There will be no classes during the seventh or eighth period tomorrow, so I’m free. Okay, I’ll accompany you.”

“Oh, by the way, Sun Youmei just replied to me,” Cheng Hui said.

Cheng Hui had sent the message to her when they first went to class, and Sun Youmei only replied to it after two classes had passed. Wen Le asked, “What did she say?”

“She said whatever. It just so happens that she doesn’t want to take Lao Yang’s class anymore. She would rather not attend any more classes this year and retake it next year.”

Wen Le was silent for a long time and gave a thumbs up, “She’s been rather crazy lately.”

Cheng Hui whispered, “She went out with her boyfriend all day, I also don’t know where she went. She also doesn’t go to classes anymore, her heart is completely not on school matters. I feel a little scared, I’m afraid that something will happen to her.”
