The two went to C-brand and went around looking. They didn’t buy a bag but ended up buying a dress instead.
Wen Le stood in front of the counter looking at bags while Zhou Kao’s gaze caught a piece of clothing. He said something to the nearby shop assistant, and the assistant then took out a white dress.
Zhou Kao took the dress and compared it to Wen Le.
Wen Le turned around in confusion, “What’s up?”
Zhou Kao handed the dress to Wen Le, “It suits you very well.”
Wen Le took the dress and looked at it. It was a white princess-style dress, full of girlish charm. Moreover, the dress’s neckline, sleeves, and length of the skirt perfectly matched the abstinent style Zhou Kao had mentioned earlier.
Wen Le had a diverse style, but recently she didn’t particularly like girlish styles, feeling a bit disgusted. “No thanks.”
However, Zhou Kao was very determined, smiling as he grasped Wen Le’s shoulder and pushed her toward the fitting room. “Give it a try. You’ll like it.”
Wen Le was reluctantly pushed by Zhou Kao towards the fitting room, and as they went in, she asked, “Oh, so you like this innocent princess style?”
Zhou Kao chuckled. Taking advantage of the shop assistant’s inattention, he kissed Wen Le’s face lightly, “I only like what you like. Go on, try it. You’ll like it.”
Wen Le snorted lightly, but Zhou Kao managed to make her happy. Holding the clothes, she went into the fitting room.
Actually, Wen Le didn’t dislike the dress, she just felt it looked very ordinary, without that ‘wow’ factor. But since Zhou Kao insisted on her trying it, she decided to give it a try to let him see the truth of his straight male gaze.
Of course, this was a bit difficult, after all, what dress wouldn’t look good on a beauty like her?
Wen Le felt a bit proud in her heart, her mind a mess, as she changed into the dress.
But Wen Le never expected that this dress, which looked so ordinary, would turn out to be so stunning when worn!
As Wen Le walked out of the fitting room, she clearly heard the shop assistant’s exclamation.
This dress, which looked so girlish and sweet, turned out to be so fairy-like when worn, almost as if it could ascend right then and there.
Zhou Kao walked up with a smile, supporting Wen Le’s shoulder, standing with her in front of the fitting room mirror.
Wen Le looked at herself in the mirror, her hands couldn’t help but cover her chest, her heart pounding from the dress’s stunning effect. After a while, she said, “Damn… this dress is so beautiful!”
Zhou Kao smiled, “What do you think? Does your boyfriend have good taste?”
Wen Le excitedly turned around and grabbed Zhou Kao’s hand, her eyes sparkling, “How did you know? I didn’t even know I’d look this good in it!”
Zhou Kao leaned close to Wen Le’s ear, speaking in a voice only she could hear, “Because all I see is you in my eyes, so I understand your beauty the most.”

Wen Le blushed at Zhou Kao’s flirtation, her heartbeat quickening. She felt a bit shy to look into Zhou Kao’s eyes, but Zhou Kao kept staring straight at her. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, Wen Le said, “I’ll go change back.”
Wen Le’s dress fluttered quickly as she disappeared back into the fitting room.
Zhou Kao smiled as he went to pay at the cashier. As he passed by a few shop assistants, he heard their whispers, “Oh my, My eyes almost popped out just now. That dress is so ethereal! Clearly, it didn’t look too good hence it isn’t selling well, but once she put it on, it’s like she’s a fairy about to ascend to heaven.”
“If this beauty were a model, these dresses would be sold out in minutes. It’s amazing…”
“Well, as long as you’re good-looking, even if your boyfriend has a straight male gaze, it can still be useful, probably because being a Barbie doll fan isn’t a flaw in front of a beauty.”
“Hahaha, I was just thinking the same thing when the handsome guy took that white dress, I was about to say what kind of straight male gaze is this, but I didn’t expect his girlfriend to be so awesome…”
“Maybe it’s because her boyfriend has a discerning eye…”
When Wen Le came out, Zhou Kao had already settled the bill, holding a brand-new dress in his hand.
Wen Le linked arms with her boyfriend and happily left the store.
The movie had already started by then. The two got their tickets checked and entered. Wen Le held two cups of milk tea, while Zhou Kao carried Wen Le’s down jacket and the gifts they bought while shopping. The theatre was dimly lit, but it was vaguely visible that most of the audience were couples. The two sat on the double sofa in the back row to watch the movie.
Suddenly, Wen Le remembered something and looked at the neckline of Zhou Kao’s shirt, “By the way, why aren’t you wearing the necklace I gave you?”
Zhou Kao smirked, “Finally remembered. I was waiting for you to put it on for me.”
Wen Le made a soft noise of acknowledgment and took the necklace Zhou Kao took out from his pocket, putting it around Zhou Kao’s neck from behind.
The necklace was a bit long, hanging about five or six centimeters below Zhou Kao’s collarbone when he put it on.
Wen Le turned Zhou Kao’s body slightly, carefully examining the necklace. Then, as if on a whim, she reached out and touched the pendant.
Zhou Kao lowered his head to see what Wen Le was up to.
Wen Le’s long eyelashes trembled, and then she leaned down, gently kissing the pendant.
Zhou Kao’s breath hitched, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down.
But Wen Le didn’t stop there. Carefully glancing around the surroundings, she saw that the double sofas in the theatre were divided by iron railings, making each a private space.
Feeling assured they wouldn’t be noticed, Wen Le reached out and unbuttoned Zhou Kao’s shirt, one button at a time.
Zhou Kao looked at Wen Le with a dark gaze, seemingly suppressing some emotion.
Wen Le unbuttoned the four buttons of Zhou Kao’s shirt, then placed the pendant she had kissed against his skin, just above his chest.
Wen Le buttoned up Zhou Kao’s shirt again, then, with a layer of shirt fabric between them, she touched the position of the pendant and smiled, “I’ll keep the star I picked for you and my kiss right here in your heart.”
After saying that, she even winked at Zhou Kao.
