Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 71

    Best Newcomer

“What dinner, let’s go drink later!” Li Hao wrapped his arm around Wang Cheng’s shoulder and glanced at Xie Yan, seemingly never seen such a stingy man like him before.

Su Shen jabbed Xie Yan’s arm and said, “It’s okay, it’s just a dinner. It’s the same going to his house to drink.”

Xie Yan closed his eyes and said nothing. The two of them looked at each other and then shied away again, “Isn’t this not good? If the two of us disturb you guys, Yan ge would definitely be unhappy.”

“That’s right. But since Su Shen has said so, if we don’t agree, we won’t be giving face,” said Li Hao with dead earnesty.

Su Shen was amused by them. It was hard for them to have dinner together since they had to film every day of the entire year. It was really nothing.

She turned to the side and saw Xie Yan still leaning against his seat in silence, so she leaned over and whispered, “I’m free for the next few days.”

Hearing that, Xie Yan instantly opened his eyes. Seeing that she was still blinking and staring at him, he couldn’t help but plant a kiss on her forehead, whispering, “Me too.”

The people in front of them were already used to their PDA, but Li Hao was still really amazed by Su Shen, who was able to make Xie Yan be so docile. They still weren’t sick of this kind of clinginess.

It was not until the staff outside said that they could get out now that Su Shen opened the door and carefully lifted her gown to get out of the car.

Most of the people outside had already left. The long red carpet was surrounded by cameras and a cast had just walked the red carpet. Su Shen wanted to stand next to Wang Cheng, lest she would be attacked for not understanding protocol if she stood in the middle.

Xie Yan didn’t stand in the middle either, but next to Su Shen. In the end, the middle position was taken by Fan Meng.

The red carpet was surrounded by flashing lights. Instead of lifting her gown, Su Shen let the hem of the gown fall to the ground meandering. Su Shen kept a smile on her face as flashes of the cameras from all around were incessant. After they finally walked to the middle, the host asked them to come over for a bit.

Fan Meng was wearing a black lady’s suit today, seemingly wanting to appear as an experienced but capable career woman. This was her first public appearance ever since the hotel scandal, but she appeared to look good and didn’t seem to be bothered by the comments online.

“Wow! I finally saw my idol!” The hostess exclaimed in surprise when she saw Xie Yan, keeping a polite yet excited smile.

Wearing a black suit, Xie Yan stood next to Su Shen and insipidly smiled upon hearing that.

The host, on the other hand, nudged the hostess and said jokingly, “Ask Xie Yan if you can hug him for a bit.”

At that, Li Hao, who was holding the mic, said actively, “Of course!”

Wang Cheng couldn’t help but glance at Li Hao and wanted to laugh. He didn’t expect him to make trouble here.

With so many people around, Su Shen quietly tugged at the corner of Xie Yan’s jacket, indicating to him to just go along with it.

After a pause, Xie Yan still took a step forward. The hostess was surprised and flattered before stepping forward and gently hugged him. She then quickly stepped back and smiled in disbelief, “I actually hugged my idol!”

Xie Yan rarely participated in these kinds of engagements, and the hostess was not a well-known host either, so there was very little chance to encounter Xie Yan.

“Lady Luck must be smiling on you today. As far as I know, Xie Yan, you seldom attend these kinds of events, right?” The host changed the topic cleverly.

The flashes continued. Su Shen kept a smile on her face and turned to the side slightly, only to see Xie Yan nodding without saying anything.

Knowing that he was not a person who would liven the atmosphere, the host continued to ask, “I heard that you were nominated for Best Actor today. Are you confident in yourself?”

Facing so many cameras, Xie Yan turned to the side to glance at Su Shen and pointed at her. “She said I couldn’t win it.”

    Su Shen: “……..”

Wang Cheng almost burst into laughter, but he tried his best to keep a polite smile.

The flashes were even louder. Su Shen kept a smile on her face and said to the host while holding the mic, “I was just kidding. He’s petty and bore it in mind.”

She had just casually mentioned it in the car at first, saying that he wouldn’t be able to win it today. She didn’t expect that he would say it out loud. Now those fans would definitely think that they were pretty close to the point of making such a joke.

Clearly, the host didn’t expect that they would be so close and then continued the topic, looking at Su Shen: “I heard that you guys worked on a drama. Are you guys pretty close then?”

Su Shen had answered these kinds of questions so commonly that she replied with a smile without any hesitation, “Xie laoshi is a great senior. I can learn a lot from him. We work well together.”

Xie Yan said nothing and just looked at her quietly.

At that, the host nodded again and cast his gaze onto Fan Meng. After all, it was her first public appearance ever since the hotel scandal.

“Fan Meng, you were nominated once for a Silver Lion award before. Are you sad that you didn’t get nominated this time around?” The host asked.

Fan Meng just smiled upon hearing that before holding the mic and replying conscientiously, “I’m not very satisfied with my performance this time. I think only when there is competition, there will be pressure, and only when there is pressure, there will be progress. I will try my best to bring everyone better works.”

The host couldn’t ask her about the hotel scandal so candidly, so he just asked a trivial question and let her go.

After the interview, the host then allowed them in. When they entered, the whole cast was seated next to each other, with Su Shen next to Wang Cheng. At this time, the award ceremony hadn’t begun yet and was dark all around, except for the small lights under the stage.

Su Shen went on the live broadcast, and the bullet comments were full of “AHHHHH”. Perhaps it was the first time that they had seen Xie Yan joking, it was akin to those fans finding a new element or something.

Netizen A: My hubby’s too cute, to push the blame on Su Shen. [joy]

Netizen B: I suddenly ship this Crab Cake* CP. [joy]

Crab Cake – a play on words with Xie Yan and Su Shen’s names, 蟹黄 (Xie Huang) means the meat and roe of crabs, 酥 (Su) means fluffy pastry, so combined it becomes Crab Cake!

Netizen C: Fan Meng’s too shameless. Everyone very knowingly stood to the side, but she liked to squeeze into the middle. Even Su Shen was polite enough to stand to the side. She’s too shameless. [vomit]

Netizen D: Is Fan Meng coming out to solicit again? Her shamelessness is thicker than the Great Wall of China. [vomit]

Netizen E: Su Shen and Xie Yan’s relationship is so good! This whole cast is so heartwarming, except for that rat shit, Fan Meng. [joy]

Netizen F: I don’t know if anyone has noticed that when Su Shen was saying that Xie laoshi is a great senior, my Yan ge was staring at her. [joy]

The comments on the bullet screen were about to be flooded. Su Shen was also very helpless. These netizens could go be Sherlock Holmes. It was better for her not to attend these kinds of events with Xie Yan in the future, lest they guessed and said that she was hyping again.

When the award ceremony officially began, Wang Cheng, who was next to her, was playing games again and even invited her to form a team, but Su Shen ignored him. The camera would come over from time to time, especially where Xie Yan was, but he was expressionless throughout.

When it was time for the Best Supporting Actor award, the camera paused for a bit on Li Hao as his name was announced for the nomination. Su Shen could see that Li Hao was a little nervous since he had only ventured into the big screen in the past two years, and an award could give him a lot of points. It was also more of a recognition of his acting.

The awarding guests were a veteran drama actor and a semi-well-known Chinese opera actress from the 80s. When they saw the names nominated, the two also began to guess who would win the award tonight.

“It has always been said that supporting roles are green leaves, but flowers can’t show their beautifulness without the green leaves. In a good play, these unknown green leaves are often needed to show the greatness of a play. I think the best supporting actors of this year are all so strong and that the competition will be very fierce.” The actress looked at the veteran actor beside her.

The latter nodded and said, “That’s right, only when there is competition is there progress. Then Pan Fei, who do you think will be the winner tonight?”

“I don’t know. Then Yu laoshi, who do you think it will be?” The actress counter asked with a smile.

The veteran actor just smiled. “Let’s stop guessing and look at the result.”

As the lights flickered, Su Shen glanced at Li Hao. Just at this moment, the actress had opened the award card, and after a pause, she said with a smile, “Wow, I really like this actor a lot. He’s very handsome and MAN!”

“The nominations this time are all very handsome.” The veteran actor laughed.

The actress didn’t keep up the suspense and said into the mic while looking at the audience, “Okay, the Best Supporting Actor of the 53rd Silver Lion Award is…”

“I think it’s Hao ge,” whispered Su Shen to Wang Cheng.

The latter glanced at her, leaned over, and whispered, “What if it isn’t him?”

Su Shen smiled and said nothing, continuing to look at the stage.

    “Li Hao!”

As soon as the actress’s words fell, there was a burst of warm applause from the audience. As the light fell on Li Hao, he was obviously stunned before standing up. Wang Cheng patted his shoulder with a grin, and he even hugged Xie Yan excitedly for a bit.

Being hugged hard, Xie Yan kept a smile on his face. Li Hao then walked onto the stage with a grin.

For an actor, awards were gratifications. The Silver Lion Award was one of the three most valuable awards in China. Even for a Best Supporting Actor, it was a great honor. Some people could not even win a Best Supporting Actor award in their whole lifetime.

The Best Supporting Actress went to a post-90s actress who had just debuted not long ago. Her acting was solid and very expressive. It was within expectations for her to win the Best Supporting Actress award.

After receiving the award, all the lights were focused on the two of them. After the Best Supporting Actress finished her speech, Li Hao came to the mic with his trophy in hand, “I didn’t expect to win this award. Honestly, I’m very surprised. Thank you to the committee for their vote. I also want to thank Director Huang for asking me to play this role. Yu laoshi is right, only when there is competition is there progress. I will always keep this to heart and strive to improve myself. I hope to bring better works to everyone. Thank you!”

At that, there was another round of warm applause. Although they were all just going along with it since it was not them winning the award, they still had to put on a show.

Almost half of the audience was part of the entertainment industry. When everyone’s eyes fell on you, it was probably the feeling of a thousand eyes on you.

After his speech, Li Hao walked down the stage with his trophy in hand, and the ceremony carried on to the other awards.

After he sat down, Wang Cheng took the trophy and weighed it in his hand. “This purity is not enough. The purity of the Best Actor must be enough.”

“Shoo, shoo, shoo. I’ll get the purest one one day!” Li Hao held his trophy and appeared to be in a good mood.

Su Shen laughed. Winning an award not only depended on capability but also luck. If the competition was fierce, then luck was out. Although it was also very fierce this time, Li Hao had the capability.

After several bouts of awards, it was finally the Best Newcomer award. The awarding guests were Tang Xuan and another mid-aged actor. The ones nominated this time were also very strong, among which was a child star actress. Her acting was extremely solid and had also just entered the big screen. She had been in school all this while.

“Aren’t you nervous?” Wang Cheng turned to look at her.

Su Shen glanced at him from the corner of her eye and smiled helplessly. “What do you think I should do to make myself appear to be nervous then?”

Wang Cheng thought she was too calm and didn’t look like a newcomer who had just debuted for two or three years. He glanced at her and said nothing.

Just at this moment, the two people on stage had finished livening up the atmosphere. After looking at the winner, Tang Xuan looked at the audience while speaking into the mic, “I met the winner of this award once before. She’s very bold and knows to try something that many people don’t even dare to try. I think she’s very expressive and also very beautiful.”

Perhaps it was because the atmosphere at the scene was too good that Su Shen in the audience suddenly felt a little nervous. Not to mention that this award would be the first award on her resume, it was also a kind of recognition for her.

“The winner of the Best Newcomer Award of the 53rd Silver Lion Award is…”

Su Shen subconsciously looked at Xie Yan, who was also looking at her. Seeing him, she calmed down inexplicably.

Tang Xuan said into the mic while looking at the audience, “Su Shen!”

Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 70

    Freeloading Dinner

After a moment’s silence, Su Shen ultimately nodded.

Seeing her agree, the director continued, “No worries. We will fix the sound during editing.”

This was how variety shows worked nowadays. They would enlarge people’s focal point, but in reality, everything depended on post-editing.

“I need to have a try of you guys’ guzheng first,” said Su Shen seriously, or she wouldn’t be able to control the sound and plucking of the guzheng well.

Hearing this, the director naturally said no problem and continued to go over a few more questions with her before asking someone to bring the guzheng over to her.

The rehearsal was held in the afternoon, and the actual recording would be held at night. Su Shen had gotten used to the pattern of these variety shows, and it all depended on post-production.

When the actual recording began at night, the audience had already entered the venue. Su Shen also had fans now. There was a group of fans sitting together in the audience holding her name and shouting it from time to time.

When the show began, she went on stage with several main characters of the cast. Immediately, there was a burst of warm applause from the audience. Su Shen kept a smile on her face as all the cameras focused on them.

“Let’s give a warm welcome to the main cast of Green Blood Sword!” The host said into the mic.

Immediately, a burst of applause erupted from the audience. The hostess then asked them to introduce themselves. Standing in the middle, Su Shen took the mic and smiled at the camera. “Hi everyone, I’m Su Shen, and I played Xuan Yuanjing in the drama.”

“Su Shen, this is the first time you worked with Jiang Yin, right? Was there a good rapport between you two?” The hostess asked.

This had all been rehearsed beforehand, so Su Shen naturally replied with a smile with her prepared answer, “In the beginning, we weren’t familiar with each other, but it got better later on.”

At that, the hostess didn’t follow up and asked Jiang Yin to introduce himself.

After everyone’s introductions, the host asked them to sit down to chat. He took a look at his script and said, “Our theme today is about breakups. In the drama, did the male and female leads ever break up?”

Su Shen held the mic and replied upon hearing that, “The female lead broke up one-sidedly.”

“But the male lead didn’t permit it,” added Jiang Yin.

The hosts across from them all laughed, and the hostess asked with a smile, “The drama seems to be quite melodramatic. So, did they break up or not?”

Thinking of the messy plot later on, Su Shen smiled helplessly and allowed Jiang Yin to answer, “You’ll find out when you watch the drama.”

At that, the hosts nodded. Then, the hostess looked at Jiang Yin again and asked, “Then Jiang Yin, if you break up with your ex-girlfriend, would you not be able to forget her?”

When the camera was aimed at Jiang Yin, the latter pondered for a bit before he looked at Su Shen subconsciously. The latter sat on the stool beside him expressionlessly. She didn’t know why he looked at her. They had never been together.

“I belong to the kind that looks forward. Since I’ve decided to break up, I won’t linger on it, unless it’s an unrequited love.”

As soon as Jiang Yin finished his words, the audience exploded again. Countless fans were crying out loud, and the hosts also exclaimed with a nod. “You’re so good-looking. Why don’t you confess?”

Su Shen changed into another position and was expressionless.

In the face of the host’s question, Jiang Yin just smiled and said, “Sometimes, not just being good-looking is useful.”

“AHHHHHHH!” The fans below were shouting crazily again.

“It sounds like there’s a story.” The host laughed, but he didn’t pry further. Instead, he looked at Zhu Qinqin and asked, “Then Qin Qin, would you be sad over a breakup?”

Seeing that the camera was finally on her, Zhu Qinqin changed to a more ladylike sitting position and covered her face with her hand, pretending to be shy. “I never had a boyfriend.”

    Su Shen: “…….”

She covered her mouth with her hand and almost laughed.

“Has no one pursued you in school then?” The host continued to ask.

At that, Zhu Qinqin blinked her eyes innocently and said into the mic, “At that time, my parents didn’t allow me to date. I’m rather obedient, so I have never had a boyfriend.”

Su Shen pursed her lips even though she wanted to laugh.

Zhu Qinqin went the innocent campus belle route, so these statements matched her image.

Fortunately, the host didn’t care about the truthfulness of her responses. He then placed his sight on Su Shen, “Then Su Shen, would you be sad over a breakup?”

When the camera was aimed at her face, Su Shen pondered for a bit before saying into the mic, “I won’t break up easily. Since I’ve decided to be together with someone, I will slowly learn how to manage the relationship, unless there’s something that is really intolerable. But if that day really came, I may have already given up on him and wouldn’t be sad over it.”

“Are you the more active one in a relationship then?” The male gave her a meaningful smile.

The fact that she was with Xie Yan was not a big secret in the industry. Su Shen knew what the host was referring to, but she just smiled and answered truthfully, “I’m the more passive one. I’ve almost never taken the initiative.”

It was because Xie Yan was too proactive. He completely seized the initiative between them.

“Then in this kind of situation, it’s mostly the man who’s more overbearing. Would you often quarrel with each other?” The host continued to ask curiously.

    Quarrel?

After pondering for a bit, Su Shen was somewhat embarrassed and said into the mic, “We seemed to have never quarreled. He never lost his temper with me nor was he too overbearing. Contrarily, he’s very respectful of me. If I had a different opinion than him, he would listen to me. However, we haven’t contacted each other for a long time.”

Seeing that she added emphasis on the last sentence, the hosts laughed meaningfully. “What a pity. He sounds like the best boyfriend of the century.”

At that, Jiang Yin, who was beside her, couldn’t help but glance at her. Su Shen just smiled and said nothing. Recalling it now, Xie Yan was indeed very good to her, but she was still very passive.

“We all know that you can play the guzheng. Can you show us a bit?” The host asked.

Su Shen naturally nodded and said, “Okay.”

After everyone walked to one side, the staff immediately brought a guzheng onto the stage. After Su Shen sat down, she then slowly put on the fake nails. After the camera was adjusted to aim at her, she then slowly began to pluck the strings.

The hostess squatted beside it and aimed the mic in front of the strings to magnify the sounds. As Su Shen plucked the strings, everyone noticed that this was a song that they had never heard of, but it held an inexplicable oriental nostalgia.

This was a piece of a music score that her master had taught her. It was said that it was composed by a favored concubine of the previous dynasty. At that time, the favored concubine was very favored by the Emperor, but everyone said that she was a femme fatale and brought ruin to the country. The favored concubine then disappeared. Some said that she had died in the well of the Cold Palace, and so, the previous dynasty was destroyed due to the incompetence of the weak Emperor. There was only the first part of the music score remaining with the second part missing.

Without any accompaniment, there was only the sound of the strings clanging, producing a poignant and beautiful melody. The woman looked down slightly, her side profile exquisite. Her eyes were slightly open, and her slender fingers moving along the strings. Her focused gaze seemed to only contain the guzheng.

As soon as Su Shen finished playing, she looked up at the hostess beside her and said with a smile, “I forgot the remaining part.”

“No, no, no, it was great.” The hostess immediately shook her head. “I didn’t go to school much, and I can only say that it sounded great.”

Everyone else also burst into laughter. There was also a warm round of applause from the audience. The host also exclaimed, “Before, our director said that you weren’t confident in yourself, so we were thinking of adding BGM later on. But with this, you’re slapping our production team in the face!”

Although they couldn’t hear what techniques were used, they could still sense the tempo. The tempo and tuning of the song were basically integrated into one with not a hint of abruptness at all.

“When the director asked me about it before, I was hesitant because I’ve forgotten many music scores, so I had to practice at the last minute.” Su Shen explained with a smile.

Actually, she didn’t want to play it at first because she was afraid of being suspected. But on second thought, she didn’t have to hide. Even if others suspected her, she could say that she was just innately talented.

After the performance, the variety show set up some small games. After finishing recording, it was already 10:00 pm. Jiang Yin offered to drive her, but Su Shen declined saying she had a chauffeur.

After returning to her condo, she told Liu jie about the later part of the variety show and hoped that the production team would not cut randomly and make her and Jiang Yin into a cp.

For the following while, there were only a few engagements. Meanwhile, Su Shen delved into the script of the Republican era movie. This was an opportunity for her; whether she could enter the mainstream film industry depended on this. Xie Yan could provide her with connections and opportunities, but it couldn’t change the way those directors saw her.

Xie Yan came back on the 8th, but Su Shen didn’t go see him because the award ceremony was on the 9th. This time, Li Hao was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, Xie Yan for Best Actor, and she was nominated for Best Newcomer. Frankly, she didn’t think that Xie Yan could win the Best Actor award because the script was not the best. The other actors that were nominated for the award were either of a literary, commercial, or action movie. It was hard for historical war films to ever win an award.

On the 9th, Liu jie brought her a light sage green fluffy dress. She had to slightly lift the dress up to walk. This kind of dress was very inconvenient, but it was already a lot better than those that bore the chest and back.

“You have to go on set on the 12th, so I already declined the rest of your engagements for the next few days. You can be stuck together with Xie Yan,” said Liu jie, sitting in front.

Sitting in the rear, Su Shen just blinked her eyes and coughed upon hearing that before she looked out the window, saying nothing.

“By the way, the producer for the drama of you and Xie Yan intends for you guys to do a couple’s OST duet. What do you think?” Liu jie asked suddenly.

    Su Shen: “……”

    A couple’s duet?

She wanted to laugh upon hearing that. Even if she was beaten to death, she didn’t believe that Xie Yan would go sing.

“Even I haven’t heard him sing before and it’s unnecessary. He can just sing for me only,” said Su Shen indifferently.

    Liu jie: “…….”

Turning around and glancing at Su Shen, she suddenly found that the two of them were getting more and more lovey-dovey despite meeting each other only a few times recently.

When the car stopped outside of the red carpet, there were already many cars parked outside. Some artists were queuing up to walk the red carpet. This time, they also walked together as a cast and were rather toward the end too.

Currently, the weather was not that cold. Putting on a thin coat, Su Shen followed Xiao Zhou to the commercial SUV for the cast. As soon as the door opened, the inside was full of people. Li Hao, Wang Cheng, and the others were already there.

Seeing her coming, Li Hao immediately moved to the front and said with a smile, “I won’t be third wheeling.”

At that, Wang Cheng, who was at the side, couldn’t help laughing. Su Shen blushed. When she was about to get in the car, Xie Yan, who was inside, immediately reached out to hold her arm and helped her in.

In the back, Fan Meng still had a long face and looked at Su Shen with scorn.

After sitting down, Su Shen took off her high heels. This pair of heels would cause blisters if she wore them for a long time, but if she put on some band-aids, they would be caught in the photos.

“Not cold?” Xie Yan glanced at her bare feet.

Su Shen pulled her coat closer and then lifted up the hem of her gown, revealing a pair of fleece leggings. “Look, I’m wearing another one inside.”

Seeing that the people in front also turned around, Xie Yan immediately pulled down the hem of her dress and held her slender wrist, frowning before saying, “You didn’t eat well again?”

The people in front were exasperated. Being lovey-dovey every day, don’t they ever consider their feelings

“I… didn’t lose weight. You’re delusioning. I clearly gained a pound.” Su Shen glanced at him from the corner of her eye and pursed her lips.

Glancing at her, Xie Yan took off his suit jacket and placed it on her legs. He then caressed her head, “But, I’m thinner. Do you want to replenish me?”

    Su Shen: “…….”

    She blushed and stopped talking.

Looking at the two of them being lovey-dovey as if no one was around, Wang Cheng, who was in the front, couldn’t help but interjected, “Right, right, right, Su Shen, if you’re gonna cook today, you wouldn’t mind Li Hao and me freeloading a dinner, right?”

At that, Xie Yan glanced at him insipidly and said without changing his expression. “No can do.”

Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 69

    Variety Show

Su Shen said nothing upon hearing that. After a while, she boarded her flight. When she returned to her condo, it was already 9:00 pm. There was still half a month before she went on set. During this period, there were a lot of engagements that she had to attend.

She sat on her bed and looked at her schedule for the next few weeks using her laptop, only to find that the rumors about Xie Yan’s girlfriend were getting more and more intense. Fortunately, Cen Qing had been excluded from suspicion, because Xie Yan’s studio had made a statement.

Xie Yan’s Studio V: Regarding the rumor online, it is not true. Xie Yan and Miss Cen Qing are just ordinary colleagues. We hope everyone stops spreading falsehoods to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings about the two.

Netizen A: Emmmmm, ordinary colleagues, AHAHAHA

Netizen B: Does Cen Qing’s face hurt?

Netizen C: In the entertainment industry, I like He Hua as an agent the most. He never wades through mud and water in clarification. [joy]

Netizen D: It suddenly occurred to me that the studio never clarified the relationship with Su Shen. Unless…

Netizen E: When they shot The Song of Troubled Times, Xie Yan had already clarified his relationship with Su Shen. There’s no need for the studio to clarify it again.

Netizen F: So, who on earth is the woman in the photo [joy]

Netizen G: After zooming in on the photo, I noticed that Hubby took the initiative to hold the other person’s hand, whereas they didn’t even bend their hand. [joy]

Su Shen had to respect the brains of the netizens. She didn’t even remember when Xie Yan had held her hand, making it seem as if she was very cold to him.

However, too many people had seen her wearing that dress yesterday. The possibility of someone exposing it couldn’t be ruled out, but as long as some mainstream media did not speak, other small media channels exposing it would not be believed by the fans. Moreover, everything was under He Hua’s control, so she didn’t need to care about it.

After checking through the schedule sent by Liu jie, she would be rushing back and forth for the next while. The drama with Jiang Yin was about to be broadcasted, so she had to attend a variety show for publicity tomorrow. Afterward, she had a few cameos and several magazine covers. On the ninth, she had to attend an award ceremony. Basically, she would be going everywhere.

She then looked at some scripts that Liu jie sent over. These were already filtered out by her. She added the booking quote and some details about the production team too. All in all, these scripts were much better than the ones she had received before.

Now, her booking price has also reached $350,000 an episode, averaging about ten million for a drama. There were also some that gave even higher quotes, but most of them were idol dramas, full of melodrama.

After sifting through for a while, she finally found a script unlike the rest. It was a historical drama centered around a powerful female lead. Different from those dramas where the white lotus was forced to mature, this female lead was very strong-minded. She was from a prestigious family, but her father sacrificed his life for his country on the battlefield. Her mother was heartbroken and soon followed after her father. At that time, the female lead was only twelve years old. As no one in her clan liked her and felt that she was a jinx, the female lead was adopted by an aunt in the palace.

From a pampered noble lady to an orphan who suffered disdain, the female lead’s mentality was constantly evolving. Gradually, she understood the importance of power and hated those relatives who occupied her family property, but she was too weak to do anything.

Although she was only twelve years old, she was very beautiful. The princesses in the Imperial Palace didn’t like her and bullied her in all respects. However, the female lead was very intelligent and knew her own advantages. Every time the Emperor came to visit her aunt, she would often expose her wound in front of the Emperor. Her father was a hero, and the Emperor was also a little fond of the female lead, so he would often bestow her with gifts, causing others to be green with envy. The female lead would skillfully turn the tide every time.

She knew that she couldn’t do anything as a girl. If she wanted power, she had to make use of men, so she often approached the Third Prince who was the Emperor’s favorite. The Third Prince also liked her, so he often played with her which made the other princesses even more envious. In one incident where she was framed, she encountered the Eldest Prince, and he helped her out of the situation. He felt that she was very different from the rest. However, she felt that the Eldest Prince was too dangerous, so she tried to avoid him each and every time, which only made him more and more curious about her.

As time went by, the female lead became more and more beautiful, attracting many people’s attention. The Fifth Prince and Sixth Prince also liked her. Thus, the female lead circled between them. When she found out that the Emperor was about to appoint the Third Prince as the Crown Prince and to betroth her to him, she didn’t refuse because she also liked the Third Prince a lot. However, she also held a different type of sentiment toward the Eldest Prince who had always been helping her.

Later, she married the Third Prince, but when the Third Prince was in danger, she sought the Eldest Prince for help and lied to him that she would be with him in the future. However, when the Third Prince was free of danger, she didn’t know how to face the Eldest Prince.

During a fight for the throne, the female lead was shot by an arrow in order to save the Eldest Prince. For her, the Eldest Prince was willing to guard the border and never return to the capital. The Third Prince ascended to the throne, but he died young due to a previous injury. The female lead governed from behind the scene as she brought up her one-year-old son. In the last scene of the ending, the female lead sat on the swing in the imperial garden, watching the snow fly all over the sky, and the Eldest Prince, who was far away at the border, was also standing on a tower looking in the direction of the capital.

It was already 2:00 am when she finished reading the script. Su Shen felt perplexed. Although the female lead might be too unreasonable since she used other people’s feelings but didn’t end up being together with them, only those who had experienced bullying and humiliation could understand what power meant. Sometimes, living was not just for happiness but also for avengement. Moreover, the female lead couldn’t tell what was love at that time. She thought she loved the Third Prince, but in the end, she found that it was not love.

Su Shen knew the nature of the scriptwriters. They would certainly exaggerate the humiliation that the female lead would endure, and then say that she was forced to become scheming because dramas needed to stay positive.

This script was very challenging. If she was not careful, she would portray the character as a pretentious and scheming b***h. However, Su Shen liked the character of the female lead. She wasn’t a good person, a very selfish person at that. But in reality, this kind of person was the most realistic. Moreover, current dramas placed love above all else, giving up everything for love, but why not for power? Love was not the only thing in a grand frame.

Originally, Su Shen wanted to take a break after filming Director Li’s film, but now, she wanted to take on this challenging script. Although their booking quote was not high, it was not the most important thing, as long as the production team was good.

The next morning, Liu jie arrived at 10:00 am and even brought a hairstylist to help her style her hair since she had to attend a variety show today.

“How could you and Xie Yan be so careless to get photographed?” Liu jie stood at the door and asked puzzledly.

Sitting in front of the vanity, the hairstylist was styling Su Shen’s hair while she slowly turned over the magazine in her hand. “There are always times where we can’t guard against it, I can’t do anything about it.”

“Nevermind. Fortunately, it was Cen Qing who got attacked. But, you have offended her.” Liu jie sighed and took out a cigarette from her purse.

Many people in the entertainment industry liked to smoke. It should be said that very few people didn’t smoke. For example, Wang Cheng and Li Hao all smoked, but they just didn’t smoke in front of her. Many female artists also smoked a lot because they were under too much pressure being in this industry, and smoking could temporarily relax their state of mind.

“Then I have to tell you, I have already offended her.” Su Shen said with a laugh, feeling helpless in her heart.

At that, Liu jie exhaled a smoke ring and frowned, “What do you mean?”

Su Shen said insipidly, “There’s nothing I can do. Don’t you know what I mean?”

Cen Qing didn’t like her at first glance.

At that, Liu jie just frowned and said nothing. There was no secret in this industry, and it spread rapidly. Many people knew that Cen Qing had gone after Xie Yan for a period of time. Now, it was not unlikely that she would vent her anger on Su Shen.

Liu jie suddenly realized that Su Shen had really offended too many people.

“Right, I’ve read the scripts you sent me. I want to take on Li Palace,” said Su Shen suddenly.

Liu jie pondered for a while upon hearing that and walked up to the vanity with a cigarette in hand, “The production team of this script is one of the best in the industry. Although I don’t really like the script, the director’s pretty good. His dramas all have a pretty good rating. Logically speaking, this kind of script wouldn’t ask for you. They would look for a veteran actress. However, the production team does have the intention to ask you to act the role. If you think it’s fine, I think we can discuss with them to alter the script a little bit. This female lead is too pretentious. When it airs, you’ll definitely be attacked.”

Liu jie sought to find the best interests for them. The female lead was definitely not on the same page as a sweet and naive girl. She would use all kinds of methods to achieve her goal. However, up until now, which drama that won awards had a sweet and naive girl as the female lead?

“If there’s something wrong with the script after it’s been handed out, I’ll tell you. If you tell them now, they will think that I’m hard to work with.” Su Shen said as she glanced at Liu jie from the corner of her eye.

The latter said nothing. Perhaps she thought what she said was reasonable.

After getting her hair done, Su Shen followed Liu jie to the recording studio. This was an indoor variety show and not an outdoor reality show. Moreover, it was a well-known veteran variety program and held a high rep in the country. There was no appearance fee given to participate in the show. At most, the production team would compensate for a makeup fee.

When they arrived at the recording studio, Jiang Yin, Zhu Qinqin, and the rest were already there. Seeing her, Zhu Qinqin was somewhat unhappy, more so envious of her. They debuted at the same time and started with idol dramas, but now, Su Shen could be considered a B-list starlet. As for her, she was still at the starting point.

Ignoring Zhu Qinqin’s weird gaze, Su Shen came to the lounge prepared for her, and one of the directors immediately came in with a script to discuss what would take place.

“Su Shen, I heard that you’re good at playing the guzheng. Can you perform a little later?” The beautiful director asked with a smile, sitting on the sofa.

Leaning against the sofa and reading the itinerary, Su Shen hesitated upon hearing that.

Noticing her hesitation, the director thought that she must be worried about her skills, so she continued, “You can just casually play a song, for just two minutes.”

Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 68

    Photo

    “AHAHAHA!”

Everyone began to laugh crazily, and the other bridesmaids were somewhat embarrassed. It was clear that they didn’t expect that bridesmaid to be so bold.

“Bro, it’s up to you whether I can take my wife home or not today!” Jiang Liankai rolled up his sleeves as he spoke. The other groomsmen also laughed and surrounded Xie Yan, seemingly wanting to pawn him off.

The bridesmaid who said she wanted a kiss from Xie Yan covered her face excitedly. In actuality, she was embarrassed. Su Shen rolled her eyes and was about to step forward.

“Wait,” Xie Yan suddenly grabbed Jiang Liankai who was about to pull his arm. He cast his gaze toward the bride’s back, “The shoes are behind her.”

At that, the bridesmaids looked at each other in dismay, even Jiang Liankai was stunned and wanted to go look without a second longer.

“Alright, alright, we’ll take it out.” That leading bridesmaid waved her hand helplessly and took out a pair of silver high heels from under the wedding dress behind the bride.

Nobody expected that the pair of high heels would be there. Jiang Liankai pounded on Xie Yan’s shoulder, “Not bad, how’d you know that?”

Xie Yan didn’t say anything and just looked at him with a smile.

Thinking that he was just about to pawn him off, Jiang Liankai felt a little guilty. He immediately stepped forward and princess-carried the bride. Everyone applauded as he easily carried the bride out.

Seeing the bride being carried out, everyone outside all moved aside. When Su Shen saw Xie Yan come out, she slowly walked up to him and glanced at him. “How’d you know that the shoes were behind the bride?”

In fact, Su Shen had also noticed the peculiarity. The room had been searched through but there was still not a trace of the shoes. Moreover, there was no need to spread out the train of the bride’s wedding dress, but they did. Perhaps they were trying to hide something in it.

Everyone then proceeded to walk out. Xie Yan put his arm around her shoulder and whispered into her ear, “Don’t learn from them in the future.”

    Su Shen: “…….”

It seemed that Xie Yan was traumatized by finding shoes.

But when the time really came, she would definitely hide it well. After all, it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. It would be too much of an easy way out for him if he found it so easily.

“Hurry up. Jiang laoshi’s going to have his wedding night today, don’t let him drink so much,” said Su Shen urgingly.

At that, Xie Yan naturally followed with an “en”.

Seeing him walk ahead, Su Shen quickly followed after him. Fortunately, Jiang Liankai was strong enough to princess-carry the bride from the hotel room down to the lobby. There were some wedding gowns that weighed more than ten pounds. After he carried the bride into the car, everyone else also got into their respective cars and followed after.

Again, Su Shen and Cen Qing were in the same car. This time, she and Cao Yaner didn’t come and talk to her. After around ten minutes or so, they finally stopped in front of a hotel.

The lobby of the hotel was reserved and transformed into a banquet. In the middle, a red carpet was laid down, and at the end of it, there was a big heart made of fresh flowers. There were also small hearts of fresh flowers all around. Their wedding photos were also displayed and the two looked particularly romantic.

After sitting down in her seat, Su Shen waited for the wedding to begin. At the same table were Ge Luo, Zheng Tong, Cen Qing, and the rest. There was a smile on everyone’s face, clearly infected by the lively atmosphere.

About half an hour later, the lights in the hall suddenly dimmed, but no one panicked. They saw a beam of light shining on one end of the red carpet, and soon after, the bride held her father’s arm and walked towards the other end step by step.

Si Yi was a veteran host in the industry, and despite not being a professional MC, he had obviously come well-prepared. His ability to react and control the stage was indisputable.

“Mr. Jiang Liankai, do you take Ms. Zhang Yinjuan to be your lawfully wedded wife? No matter for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness or in health, in happiness or in worry, you will love her without reservation and stay devoted to her as long as you live?”

There seemed to be only the voice of the MC left in the hall. Under the lights, Jiang Liankai held the microphone and said without hesitation, “I do.”

At that, the MC then looked at the bride beside him and said, “Ms. Zhang Yinjuan, are you willing to marry Mr. Jiang Liankai as his lawfully wedded wife? No matter for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness or in health, in happiness or in worry, you will love him without reservation and stay devoted to him as long as you live?”

The bride was a little choked with emotions, but she still nodded, “I do.”

When the wedding march sounded, there was a burst of applause. Su Shen also clapped her hands hard. She had heard that they had been together for a long time. In fact, a slow and steady relationship was also a different kind of love.

At this time, Jiang Liankai held the microphone and said to the bride emotionally, “I’m very fortunate that God has given me such a good wife. I’m not good with sweet talk, nor am I romantic. Sometimes, I’m so busy with filming that I can’t see you twice a year, but you never complained about anything. When I was young, I was ignorant and just wanted to work hard for two more years, ignoring your feelings. But you never quarreled with me, nor did you complain at all. Till now, it was always you waiting for me. I’m not good with words, but honey, I just want to tell you that I’ll be with you every day henceforth.”

    Clap, clap, clap!”

There was another round of warm applause. The hall was massive, and many people from the business world, including some who had cooperated with Jiang Liankai, came. Frankly, it couldn’t be said that half of the entertainment industry was present, but at least half of the people in the film industry were here.

The bride was moved to tears. It was not until Jiang Liankai held her in his arms that she said, “I love you.”

There were too many people in the entertainment industry who went their separate ways due to time apart. In particular, if the girl was not a part of the entertainment industry, the stress would be even greater. Jiang Liankai was not as nitpicky as Xie Yan. If he encountered a good script and there were some bed scenes, he would still film it. What’s more, the other party was even a beautiful actress. There would definitely be a great amount of stress on the girl. But to withstand until now, this level of trust was not something ordinary people could have. Moreover, Jiang Liankai must’ve wanted to spend more time with his family as he had been slowly transitioning to work behind-the-scenes more and more. Fortunately, they were able to be married after so long.

Su Shen felt rather perplexed. Suddenly, she felt that marriage was such a wonderful thing.

Xiao Su, when are you going to settle down with Xie Yan?” Ge Luo, who sat beside her, suddenly asked with a smile.

Seeing that it was him, Su Shen immediately replied politely, “Up to fate, depends on the situation.”

As she spoke, she blushed. Cen Qing, on the other side, couldn’t help but look at her with a trace of peculiarity in her eyes.

The groom and bride had to go around to each table and give a toast. There were at least a hundred or so tables here. Thus, this was where the groomsmen came in and that was to block the wine for the groom.

Although there were six groomsmen, it was not sure whether they could hold up with more than a hundred or so tables. Fortunately, the six groomsmen were all old foxes, and those who were not very familiar with them certainly did not dare to make things difficult for them. Not mentioning others, Jiang Liankai’s position in the industry didn’t need to be said further. Except for a few people who were very familiar with him, no one dared to actually have him drink.

Despite it already being in the afternoon, the wedding reception still hadn’t ended. Su Shen’s back was sore from sitting so long and could only go on her phone to scroll around a bit.

This morning, Jiang Liankai posted a photo of himself and the bride on Weibo, as well as a group photo with the groomsmen. The Hot Search list was instantly occupied by today’s wedding.

No. 1 on Hot Search was precisely #The Most Powerful Groomsmen In History#.

    Netizen A: AHHHHH! A once-a-lifetime thing!

Netizen B: Including the groom, these seven people can absolutely draw a box office of five billion if they shot a movie. [joy]

Netizen C: This group of groomsmen is too powerful. Boss Jiang’s popularity is too good. [joy]

Netizen D: AHHHHHH, XIE YAN! TOO HANDSOME!

Netizen E: This is almost half of the entertainment industry. It hadn’t been easy for Boss Jiang and to finally get married, congratulations! [heart]

Some stars who didn’t attend the wedding also sent their blessings on Weibo. Of course, there were some who were using it for clout. In short, today’s wedding was the subject of talk throughout the entire entertainment industry. Someone had posted a blurry video of the groom and bride’s vows just now too. Everyone gave their blessings to this couple.

The reception lasted until 8:00 pm. Some people had already left as everyone was very busy. There were some who even had to take an overnight flight back to make it to some pressing engagements. After sitting there for a long time, Su Shen heard from Ge Luo that they were going to go make a ruckus at the bridal suite, so she followed after.

Jiang Liankai’s primary residence was in China, so the bridal suite was temporarily set in a presidential suite on the ninth floor of the hotel*. When Su Shen followed Ge Luo and them up to the ninth floor, the hallway was a mess, full of red confetti.

    * – in China, the bridal suite is usually the master bedroom of the newlyweds’ new house

As soon as they walked into the suite, the living room was full of people. Jiang Liankai was surrounded by a group of people on the sofa, and the coffee table was full of wine. It was obvious that they didn’t want him to enter the bridal room just yet.

“I’m telling you guys, if any of you disturb me from continuing our Jiang family’s line, don’t blame me for being rude!”

Jiang Liankai’s words were firm and resolute, but the people around him were not weak either. They all laughed at him and teased, “So you can’t continue your Jiang family’s line in the future?”

“That’s right, that’s right. If you can’t drink us down today, don’t even think of entering the bridal room!” Sun Zhi opened two bottles of wine and aggressively blocked the person on the sofa.

Jiang Liankai had no choice but to beg for mercy being surrounded by wolves in front and tigers in the back. At the door, Su Shen wanted to laugh as she watched.

The living room was a complete mess. The bridesmaids were also there to watch the fun. Clearly, they didn’t want the groom to enter the bridal room so smoothly.

“Think about it. Do you guys think it’s easy for me to get married at my age? My parents are already 60-something, waiting to hold a grandson. Won’t your conscience hurt if you do this?” Jiang Liankai invoked pathos just so he could enter the bridal room.

The others laughed and said nothing. Sitting next to Jiang Liankai, Xie Yan glanced at him from the corner of his eye and asked, “What is conscience?”

“AHAHAHA!” Everyone couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

At the look of him, Jiang Liankai could feel his anger rising up. He knew that it was Xie Yan who asked these people to block him, all to take revenge on him for letting him give a kiss to a bridesmaid today. How could a man be so petty!

“Su Shen!” Jiang Liankai suddenly shouted at the person at the door, “Take Xie Yan away quickly! Uncle will treat you to dinner later!”

At the door, Su Shen was taken aback. She felt that Jiang Liankai hadn’t had it easy. It was enough to kick up a fuss, might as well let him have his wedding night.

Thinking of this, she walked over and held Xie Yan’s arm. “Let’s go, Jiang laoshi is already exhausted.”

“Yep, yep, yep!” Jiang Liankai immediately nodded. At this moment, Su Shen was an angel in his eyes.

Glancing at him, Xie Yan didn’t say anything and just stood up, pointing at the bottle of wine on the coffee table. “Finish this, and I’ll let you in.”

Everyone was just fussing around and wouldn’t really stop him from entering the bridal room. At this moment, no one objected to what Xie Yan just said. Without hesitation, Jiang Liankai downed the bottle of wine in a few mouthfuls and immediately rushed into the bridal room.

The others couldn’t help laughing. They all drank a lot today, but they still suggested going somewhere else to drink some more. Xie Yan didn’t go but left with Su Shen.

It was a little chilly at night. At the entrance of the hotel, the two of them met He Hua. Seeing them, he immediately said, “Xie Yan, don’t you have to rush back to set tonight? Look at the time, shouldn’t you hurry back and pack?”

Su Shen didn’t expect that he would leave tonight. Hearing this, she looked at him earnestly and said, “Let’s hurry back to the hotel. Don’t waste any more time.”

Su Shen was not in a hurry. Now that she wrapped up with filming, she only needed to attend some engagements later. Director Li’s film began filming in the middle of next month, so she was not in a hurry at all.

Xie Yan uttered an “en,” before the three of them took a taxi back to the hotel.

Xie Yan did not have much to pack. Su Shen helped him bring his tuxedo back since he couldn’t wear it on set anyway.

“I’m leaving.” He stood at the door and looked at her with his suitcase in hand.

Knowing that he would finish filming in ten days, Su Shen just told him to be careful on the road. But seeing that he was still unwilling to leave, she blushed and kissed him on the cheek on her tippy toe.

At that, Xie Yan finally left with his suitcase in hand in content. At the same time, Su Shen went back into the room to pack up her things.

The flight home was at ten in the morning. But early in the morning, when Su Shen was waiting for her flight at the airport, something had happened. Yesterday, someone had taken a photo of her, Xie Yan, and He Hua talking in front of the hotel. Although her face was blocked, the photo of Xie Yan holding her hand was clear as day.

This photo caused a great uproar online again. Everyone knew that Xie Yan had a girlfriend, and there was only a slight wail from fans. But someone revealed that the woman in the photo was Cen Qing. Yesterday, Cen Qing also wore a white dress and even posted it on Weibo. Thus, many people guessed that Xie Yan’s girlfriend was Cen Qing. After all, the two had collaborated with each other before.

However, most of the comments were hurls. Xie Yan’s fans didn’t believe that the woman in the photo was Cen Qing even if they were beaten to death.

Netizen A: Regarding the relationship between the two, his studio had clarified it before. Please don’t spread rumors. Thank you. [smiley face]

Netizen B: I think it’s hype from Ms. Cen’s part. It was hyped so much before, but Xie Yan’s studio clarified it in the end. What, her face is still not slapped enough? [smiley face]

Netizen C: It seems to be true. Else, why’s it the same white dress? This is too much of a coincidence.

Netizen D: Ms. Cen doesn’t work on improving her acting. Instead, she spends her days working on her image. Now, she’s hyping. I almost forgot but Ms. Cen has a movie that’s about to be aired. [smiley face]

Netizen E: I would rather it be that stiff face Fan Meng than this b***h! [vomit]

Netizen F: Ahahaha, what if they are really together? Some diehard fans are so ridiculous. No matter what, Xie Yan won’t belong to you guys. [smiley face]

Sitting in the lounge where people came and went, Su Shen scrolled through her phone and found that many marketing accounts had reposted that photo. Some had even affixed that Xie Yan was together with Cen Qing, and the comments got more and more intense.

He Hua, who was beside her, also saw what happened online, and after sending a message, he comforted her, “I’ve already told the people in the studio to clarify it.”

“Is Cen Qing close with Xie Yan?” Su Shen asked as she turned around.

The lounge was crowded with people. Hearing this, He Hua didn’t take it seriously and just smiled helplessly, “Not really. She once asked me for Xie Yan’s number, and I gave it to her, but Xie Yan ignored her.”

Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 67

    Getting Married Is Not Easy

“Who… who wants to be real with you,” said Su Shen in a muffled voice, burying her head under the blanket.

“If you don’t want to be real with me, who else do you want to be real with?” Xie Yan grabbed the blanket and gently pulled it away.

As their eyes met, Su Shen turned her head away from him blushingly. Her voice was as quiet as a fly, “You… don’t be like this… tomorrow… we have to attend a wedding.”

Looking at the blush that appeared on her fair face, Xie Yan couldn’t help but bury his head into her sweet neck and took a deep breath, “What am I like?”

Her neck was so tickly that incited her face to become more flushed. She had never seen such a devilish person before and could only push at his shoulder with a glare, “Stay away from me!”

Her body was soft, with a lingering after-shower sweet scent. Her soft slender waist and smooth skin stimulated his nerves again and again.

“But, what should I do? I’m in pain.” His voice was hoarse.

His scalding hand had slid along her thigh all the way to her chest. Su Shen was muddled and could only feel that her heart was pounding like crazy.

Her hand that had nowhere to rest could only rest on his shoulder, blushing like a tomato, “I… I… I have no idea.”

Her soft voice stimulated his nerves again. After hugging her for a while, he suddenly got out of bed just as Su Shen was about to say something and strode into the bathroom.

Hearing the sound of water from the bathroom, Su Shen covered her face with the blanket. She had heard that it would be very painful if not released after an extended period of time, but she didn’t know how painful it would be.

When Xie Yan came out of the bathroom, Su Shen poked her head out of the blanket and saw him go towards the sofa with a blanket.

She poked her head out and softly asked out of curiosity, “Why aren’t you sleeping on the bed?”

Hearing the voice from the room, the person in the living room “calmly” said, “You sleep by yourself.”

    Su Shen: “…….”

Lying on the big bed alone, she couldn’t help but feel a little sorry. Xie Yan’s been very respectful of her. She shouldn’t be so rigid, and it was said that it was not good for the body to endure too much.

Thinking of this, she enlightened herself again. Not knowing when she had fallen asleep, she woke up the next day when she heard the alarm.

Today was the day to pick up the bride, and since they were from the groom’s side, they definitely needed to go support. After she finished with her makeup, it was already dawn. Su Shen didn’t dare steal the bride’s thunder, so her makeup was very natural and light. The dress she was going to wear for the wedding ceremony was a simple A-line white lace dress. As it was cold outside, she grabbed a beige wool coat. Xie Yan had also changed into his groomsman’s tuxedo with a gray bow tie. It was the first time that Su Shen had seen him dressed so formally. He looked refined and did not have his everyday casualness.

Thinking of last night, Su Shen couldn’t look at him and followed him out of the room with her purse.

“Where do you want to hold the wedding in the future?”

When he suddenly turned around, Su Shen was taken aback for a sec before stammering, “I… I’m fine with anywhere.”

She preferred to hold a Chinese ceremony, then a Western one. That would be perfect.

Seeing her blushing, Xie Yan smiled and turned back to walk forward.

When they arrived at the lobby, there were already a lot of people gathered there, but there were still some who hadn’t come down yet. There were six groomsmen, and they had all arrived, but the groom still hadn’t.

Lao Jiang is too unconscientious! I told him not to drink so much yesterday, but he didn’t listen. He’s gonna be late to his wedding today. If I were his wife, I would’ve kicked him a long time ago!” Sun Zhi complained as he looked at his watch.

Everyone else also laughed and joked. Just at this time, a man in a tuxedo hurried downstairs. Seeing that everyone was waiting for him, he immediately waved his hand and said apologetically, “I’m sorry for being late! I had to get my hair styled.”

Looking at his sleek hair, everyone else couldn’t help laughing out loud. Sun Zhi also echoed, “Okay, okay, you’re the most handsome today!”

Everyone walked out of the hotel with a smile. There was a row of wedding cars parked outside—all Ferraris. Su Shen was assigned to sit with Cen Qing. At this time, there was nothing to nitpick, and she did not care anyways.

Sitting in the front was Cao Yaner, she didn’t ignore her just because she wasn’t familiar with her. Instead, she talked to her extra warmly, “Su Shen, where did you graduate from?”

“Beijing Dance Academy.” She said insipidly.

“Ohh, I thought you were from The Central Academy of Drama. Your acting’s quite good.” Cao Yaner said meaningfully.

Beside her was Cen Qing, she was wearing a white off-the-shoulder dress, and her makeup was rather light—all very fitting. It had to be said that she had a great aura but gave people a sense of arrogance.

“It’s alright, not as good as you seniors.” She smiled and turned to continue to look at the scenery.

Cen Qing, beside her, couldn’t help but glance at her. The woman next to her had an exquisite side profile, an indifferent temperament, and a touch of youthful vigor, which were indeed eye-catching.

So, Xie Yan liked this type?

“Us seniors have gotten old, we can’t compare with newcomers like you. The entertainment industry needs you guys’ young blood, so you must work hard. If you need any help, feel free to come find me. After all, I’m quite close to Xie Yan.” Cen Qing smiled at her.

Su Shen turned around slightly upon hearing that. As their eyes met, she smiled. “Thank you, Cen laoshi. But if I really did bother you, I’m afraid that Xie Yan would scold me.”

Cen Qing pursed her lips and said indifferently, “Indeed, he’s not a person who likes to trouble others.”

“He’s very courteous to others,” said Su Shen in an insipid voice. She turned her head and continued to look at the scenery outside.

Looking at this scene in the rear, Cao Yaner couldn’t help but take another look at Su Shen. She didn’t expect that a girl like her would hide daggers in her smile. But then again, if she didn’t have any schemes, she wouldn’t have been able to take down Xie Yan.

The atmosphere in the car was very awkward, so Su Shen looked down and scrolled through her phone. At this time, news about Jiang Liankai’s marriage had been leaked online, but it was useless, since the wedding venue forbade paparazzi to enter, so people at home were crazily guessing who the bride was.

Someone had leaked the list of groomsmen, and it caused a huge uproar among the fans.

Among Jiang Liankai’s six groomsmen, only one was a newcomer who was signed to his studio. He was also a xiao xian rou with a pretty good branding and acted in mostly films. The lineup of the other five groomsmen was also formidable, with almost all the A-list actors there. It was indeed enough to make the media go crazy seeing so many big names gathered in one place. But unfortunately, the paparazzi were forbidden from entering the wedding venue, unless they sneaked in.

Su Shen had told Liu jie before coming here, and she didn’t say much besides telling her to be careful not to be photographed with Xie Yan. After all, it was good for her to get to know so many big names at such a party.

When the car stopped in front of a hotel, the groom and groomsmen went inside to pick up the bride. Some guests had already arrived at the hotel where the wedding ceremony would be held, while they were all here to pick up the bride.

After getting out of the car, she followed Cen Qing and the rest all the way up. When they arrived in front of the bride’s suite, the hallway was already packed with people. The door of the bride’s suite was shut tight with the bridesmaids shouting for red envelopes inside.

Jiang Liankai had no choice but to slip red envelopes frantically through the slit of the door. After slipping half of the red envelopes in a bag, the door opened a little. The groomsmen outside naturally pushed the door open.

Su Shen thought it was interesting, so she squeezed into the crowd to watch the fun. The bride was wearing a white wedding dress and a veil, sitting happily on the bed. The bride wasn’t part of the entertainment industry, but she was also very beautiful.

“I’m telling you, you can’t take the bride away unless you find her shoes,” a leading bridesmaid shouted in a domineering manner.

It turned out that the bride’s high heels were hidden away. Jiang Liankai and the others all looked around but couldn’t find them, so he gave some more red envelopes to the bridesmaids.

The bride was from a pretty wealthy family, and so were the bridesmaids. Hence, they were all daring and didn’t relent no matter how many red envelopes they gave them.

“You guys can’t do this, you can’t delay other people’s good matters!” Sun Zhi was anxious for Jiang Liankai.

Just at this moment, one of the groomsmen suddenly exclaimed towards the bride sitting on the bed, “Saozi, where are your shoes? Give us a hint!”

The bride was soft-hearted and was about to speak, but the leading bridesmaid, who was slightly tanned, immediately stopped her and said, “Juan Juan, you can’t be like this. You gotta make it hard for them!”

“It’s hard enough. If it’s harder, Kai ge won’t even be able to take his wife home!” Sun Zhi couldn’t help laughing.

Instantly, everyone else laughed. But they searched all four corners of the room, and the pair of high heels were still nowhere to be found.

Seeing this, the leading bridesmaid suddenly swept a look around and saw Xie Yan among the groomsmen before saying kindly, “Well, if you have Xie Yan give me a kiss, I’ll tell you where the shoes are.”

Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 66

    Jealous

    “YEAH, YEAH, YEAH~”

Everyone shouted one after another. The other people in the room also came over to see the liveliness. Su Shen’s heart was pounding. Although she tried her best to control her expression, she couldn’t help blushing in the face of so many eyes watching.

“That’s right. Quickly, you’re a big man! What are you so shy about!” Sun Zhi jeered loudly.

Some of them even took out their phones to record a video, but Jiang Liankai waved his hand and said, “Put them away. Don’t act like the paparazzi. This couple is thin-skinned~”

The room was filled with shouts and laughter. There were many eyes on her and Su Shen couldn’t help but glance at Xie Yan. He too glanced at her. Ultimately, he coughed and turned to Jiang Liankai, “At most, one minute.”

    Su Shen: “……”

“One minute, so be it. Chaffering with me, isn’t it a bonus for you?” Jiang Liankai scoffed. He then took out his phone and opened the stopwatch. He thought of something and shouted at Wu Jin in the crowd, “Wu Jin, go and sing a romantic song for me.”

“OK!” Wu Jin obviously liked to watch the fun and immediately went to the kiosk and put on a melodious English song.

“Come on, buddy. I’m so nice to you. Go and sit down. I’m going to time, not even a second less!” Jiang Liankai stood up and stared at his phone.

    Su Shen: “…..”

    She shouldn’t have come.

“YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!” The others were all watching the fun.

The long table was instantly surrounded. Su Shen tried her best to maintain her expression. When Xie Yan sat down, she inched closer to him subconsciously.

“Okay, get ready! Three! Two! One! Start!”

Immediately, Su Shen felt her arm being grabbed and a familiar figure suddenly enlarged in front of her eyes. Accompanied by the more and more intense rowdy jeering, she could only close her eyes and let the warm touch fall on her lips.

“Hey, hey, hey, french kiss, you need to stick out your tongue! If you don’t stick out your tongue, it doesn’t count!” Jiang Liankai shouted with a snicker.

At this time, the long table was surrounded by people. Everyone was gazing at the couple who were kissing passionately on the sofa full of zest. They were all part of the entertainment industry, and the people in the know knew that Xie Yan was not a playboy. It was their first time witnessing such a scene.

Only Cen Qing, on the other side, had a complicated expression on her face. Looking at the couple kissing passionately on the sofa, with the man holding the woman’s shoulder tightly, it didn’t seem as if he was forced at all. Instead, he was particularly initiative.

Wu Jin’s singing was very touching, but Su Shen couldn’t enjoy that kind of romance at all right now. The rowdy jeering was louder and louder. She felt her heart pounding like never before and tightly clenched onto Xie Yan’s shoulders, closing her eyes and trying her best to ignore the surrounding noise.

    “Okay, ten… eleven… nine… twelve….”

Jiang Liankai purposely counted wrong, and everyone laughed at his mischievousness. Ultimately, it was Ge Luo who told him off, and only then did he count normally.

“Five… four… three… two… one… Hey, hey, buddy!” Jiang Liankai was stunned and stared at Xie Yan who still didn’t let go of Su Shen.

Hearing that time was up, Xie Yan then released Su Shen unhurriedly. Knowing that she was thin-skinned, he put his arm around her shoulder and took her into his arms to cover her face.

Su Shen didn’t dare to look at the others. Her face was as red as a tomato, so she buried into Xie Yan’s arms and tried her best to ignore everyone’s teasing.

“TSK, TSK, TSK. I didn’t expect this at all bro. Usually, you’re so taciturn and proper, I didn’t expect you to be a wild one. How’s this even punishing you? I’m making it easy for you!” Jiang Liankai seemed a little upset. This was not the Xie Yan he knew at all.

“That’s right, that’s right. This doesn’t count!” Sun Zhi was even more upset. He had never thought that Xie Yan, who never shot a kiss scene, would suddenly become so open.

In the face of those renegations, Xie Yan arched a brow. He then said insipidly, “How is this not a punishment? Couldn’t you see that I was very unwilling?”

    Su Shen: “…….”

    Everyone else: “……..”

They couldn’t see it at all!

Jiang Liankai didn’t want to play with such a shameless man anymore, so he pulled two people to fill in Su Shen and Xie Yan’s spots, and the whole table continued to play the game.

The two of them sat in the corner. Until no one was looking at them, Su Shen then looked up apprehensively. Her face was still as red as a tomato, and her ruby lips were ever redder. The person beside her couldn’t help but stare at her.

In the dark corner, the light was very dim. Su Shen glared at Xie Yan unhappily, “They asked you to kiss, and you really did kiss. Couldn’t you have faked it?”

And even a French kiss… how embarrassing!

“That didn’t count as faking it?” Xie Yan leaned in and pressed her against the sofa, his eyes fervent, “Have you ever seen a real French kiss?

He was too close. As their eyes met, Su Shen immediately turned her head to the side and pushed his shoulder, “Go away, someone will see you.”

The people playing the game over there couldn’t help glancing at the couple in the corner. They witnessed a certain someone’s wildness fully unleashed!

Knowing that she was shy, Xie Yan sat up upright. His dapper appearance showed no signs of his previous ardor.

Leaning against the seat in the corner, Su Shen didn’t want to bother with this man. Instead, she scrolled through her phone, but her heart was still beating fast. At the thought of the kiss that she just had with Xie Yan in front of so many people, she felt that her veins were about to explode.

She felt that she was getting bolder and bolder now. If this was before, she couldn’t even have imagined doing such a thing.

“What are you looking at?” Xie Yan inched closer to her.

Su Shen snorted and ignored him. She then continued to browse the comments online. Currently, there were a lot of news outlets reporting on Jiang Liankai’s post, all analyzing whether he was joking or had really been hacked.

It was already 1:00 am when the party ended. When Su Shen came out of the restroom, she saw Xie Yan and Cen Qing standing at the door of the private room chatting. When she neared, Cen Qing couldn’t help but glance at her before smiling at Xie Yan and saying in a particularly gentle voice, “Let’s talk another day.”

After saying that, she walked away in a pair of 8 cm boots. People were coming out of the room from time to time, so Su Shen did not, not give face to Xie Yan. After following him out of the KTV venue, only then did she look at the person beside her with a frown.

There was a chill from being blown by the gust of cold wind at night. When they got in the car, Xie Yan noticed that Su Shen was still staring at him. He explained seriously, “I don’t know her.”

“What were you guys talking about just now then?” Su Shen snorted and turned her head away from him.

The driver couldn’t understand Chinese, so he focused on driving in the front. Xie Yan chuckled, “She asked why did I go film a drama. I said that I wanted to try something new, and then you came.”

    Su Shen: “…….”

She naturally knew that there was nothing between Xie Yan and Cen Qing, but sometimes even if she knew there was nothing, she still felt uncomfortable, which was a feeling she had never felt before.

When they returned to the hotel, Su Shen didn’t expect that Xie Yan would also follow inside and immediately pointed towards the door, “Quickly get out.”

Xie Yan chuckled, “This is my room.”

    Su Shen: “…….”

She suddenly forgot that all the rooms were booked by Jiang Liankai. He must’ve thought that they slept together, so why would he book more than one room for them.

“I’ll get a room myself then.”

As she said that, she turned around to grab her suitcase. But as soon as she turned around, she was tightly pulled into someone’s arms. A deep and mellow voice suddenly sounded in her ear, “Are you jealous?”

Hearing this, Su Shen blushed and tried hard to pull his hands off her waist, “I’m not!”

“Why do you need to leave then? It’s not like we haven’t slept together before.” He held her tightly in his arms. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t break free from his embrace.

What did he mean by “slept together before”!

Biting her lower lip, she finally relented and sighed, “Okay, I won’t leave. I’m going to take a shower.”

If she went to open a room now, others would think that they had a fight.

At that, Xie Yan released his hands and strode over to lock the door in passing.

    Su Shen: “…….”

Flustered, she walked over to her suitcase to grab her PJs. When she entered the bathroom, she suddenly remembered an important question. They came to attend a wedding, so they must give gift money*. It would not be good if she gave less than others.

gift money* – generally, when a couple gets married in China, relatives and guests would give cash in a red envelope to the newlyweds as their wedding gift

After taking a shower, she changed into a blue nightgown and dried her wet hair with a towel. Inside the expansive and tidy room, Xie Yan was sitting on the sofa and talking to someone on the phone. From the contents of the conversation, the person on the other end seemed to be He Hua.

After he hung up the call, Su Shen dried her hair with a hair dryer while asking, “How much do you think I should give as a gift?”

The woman in front of the vanity had her long wet hair flowing down her back. Her legs exposed were slender and fair. Although the nightgown was very loose, only Xie Yan knew her curves inside.

His eyes darkened. He took his clothes and walked into the bathroom while responding, “You don’t need to, it’s fine if I just give.”

“How much are you planning to give?” shouted Su Shen as she turned off the hair dryer.

    “Five million.”

At that, Su Shen had to admit that she was amazed at the close friendship between him and Jiang Liankai. Generally, most people would give $880,000 at most at weddings. Naturally, if they were very close with each other, they would certainly give a little more. She had also heard of people giving $10 million in gift money, but it was also because they were rich and were super close.

She heard that Xie Yan was also going to be a best man tomorrow, so it could be seen how close they were to each other.

After drying her hair, Su Shen lay down in bed, took out her phone, and searched Cen Qing.

She found that Cen Qing had once worked with Xie Yan, and even had a scandal. But, it was later clarified by Xie Yan’s studio.

Moreover, they even had a bed scene. Su Shen took a look at the bed scene, and although there was no substantialness to it, Xie Yan touched her waist though!

Cen Qing’s acting fluctuated, hence why she still hadn’t been able to win a Best Actress. However, due to her good looks and branding as a beauty, her popularity had always been very high. However, Xie Yan’s fans didn’t like her, saying that she was too haughty and did not have a good character at first glance.

Reminiscing the dribs and drabs of today and from her women’s intuition, Su Shen sensed that Cen Qing must have been interested in Xie Yan, or she wouldn’t have looked at her with a trace of hostility in her eyes.

Just at this moment, the sound of footsteps came from not far away. When Su Shen looked up, she saw Xie Yan coming out in a pair of shorts, revealing the clear physique of his upper body, making her cover her eyes on sight.

“Why didn’t you put on any clothes!” She felt that Xie Yan was getting more and more bad.

Seeing the woman on the bed who didn’t even dare to raise her head, Xie Yan chuckled and took a T-shirt out from the closet and put it on.

    “I did.”

Hearing this, Su Shen slowly raised her head. When she noticed that the man who was about to lie down on the bed had put on a T-shirt, Su Shen pressed on his waist with her feet, “Get down, I don’t want to sleep with you!”

That seething look of hers seemed to want to kick him out of bed the very next moment.

Xie Yan pursed his lips and wanted to get a little bit closer, but that foot delicate like jade thrusted against his waist hard. If it wasn’t because she was weak, he might’ve really been kicked down.

Xie Yan found that Su Shen was getting bolder and bolder.

“You said that there was nothing going on between you guys, but you guys filmed a bed scene, and you even touched her waist!” Su Shen glared at him, angered to the point of wanting to withdraw her foot.

Xie Yan held her foot and stared at her weirdly, “That was a body double.”

Being stared at by him, Su Shen felt muddle-headed and couldn’t even withdraw her foot even if she wanted to. Instantly, a blush crept upon her fair face to which she covered with the blanket.

“It’s all fake.” He said as he suddenly pressed her under him and said in a hoarse voice, “but we can be real.”

Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 65

    French Kiss

Hearing that, Su Shen froze. She felt a little embarrassed regarding such a topic, so she forcefully pried his hands away and ran to the bathroom with a makeup pouch in hand.

Looking at her hurried figure, Xie Yan smiled and said nothing.

Su Shen applied some makeup to make her complexion look a little better. Tomorrow was the wedding and Jiang Liankai was throwing a bachelor’s party tonight. Everyone was going, so Su Shen couldn’t ask Xie Yan to just stay in the hotel with her.

When she came out of the bathroom, she saw Xie Yan standing in front of the French window answering a call. The person on the other end of the line was very loud. From afar, Su Shen could even hear their voice.

Perhaps it was because he saw her coming out that he replied lightly, “We’re coming.”

It was clear that the person on the other end of the line was urging them. After Xie Yan hung up the call, Su Shen walked over with two lipsticks in hand and pulled off the lids perplexedly. “Which one do you think is better?”

She had put on light makeup and changed into a beige trench coat with a soft pink fishtail gown inside. It was just that there was a hint of bafflement on her face as if she had encountered a difficult problem.

    Xie Yan: “…….”

He glanced at the two lipsticks, one was neither red nor yellow, and the other was neither pink nor purple—all sorts of odd. He didn’t understand what the difference was between the two.

“Why do you need to apply this?” He frowned. He didn’t like to eat lipstick at all.

“What do you mean?” Su Shen blinked and glanced at him strangely. “Or, do you think both of them don’t look good?”

“It doesn’t matter. I brought six lipsticks, I’ll go get them!” As soon as she said that, Su Shen turned around to fetch them, but her arm was suddenly grabbed by someone. With a faint smile, Xie Yan said, “This red… yellow one.”

    Su Shen: “…. It’s orange.”

At that, she immediately ran into the bathroom. With a helpless smile, Xie Yan sat on the sofa for five minutes before the person in the bathroom finally came out.

“Let’s go.” Su Shen grabbed her purse from the bed and slung it on her shoulder while she wore a white beret. After all, it was windy outside.

Seeing that she was finally ready, Xie Yan led her out of the room. He didn’t notice it at first, but he found that she had gotten skinnier as he held her wrist just now.

“You didn’t eat well again?” He turned his head and grabbed her tiny wrist hard.

Su Shen wanted to break free but couldn’t, so she lowered her beret to avoid looking at him, saying feebly, “I’ve been busy recently, so I burned a lot of fat.”

Xie Yan didn’t say anything. Su Shen kept walking forward under the indescribable stare above her head. There were many people in the lobby of the hotel, but she was not afraid of being recognized as they were abroad.

Su Shen didn’t know where Jiang Liankai’s bachelor’s party was going to be held until Xie Yan took her to a glitzy KTV. As soon as the door of the large private room was opened, a penetrating singing could be heard. In the crowd, Wu Jin was singing into a microphone and the men were drinking and playing games. The whole room was chaotic. Although the smell of alcohol was strong, there was no smell of smoke. It was clear that someone had prohibited smoking.

“Come, come, come. Xie Yan’s here! We have enough people to upgrade the room!”

As soon as they entered the room, Jiang Liankai’s loud voice sounded from the long table over there that could not be ignored. When Su Shen walked over with Xie Yan, she saw a lot of familiar people in the room. There were several famous foreign actors and a world famous foreign pop diva. There was some drinking while chatting, to each their own.

As for Jiang Liankai’s table, it was full of big names. He Hua didn’t play, so there were only six people sitting at the table, including Jiang Liankai, Ge Luo, Sun Zhi, Cao Yaner, a 2nd-Gen star, and the last one was Zheng Tong. Su Shen heard that the male lead of Director Li’s film was set to be Zheng Tong.

This room would be paradise for the paparazzi.

“Beauty, come and sit here with uncle. I have a nephew who’s younger and can coax girls better than Xie Yan. He’s also fair and innocent. Would you like to consider it?”

After Jiang Liankai finished speaking, Sun Zhi couldn’t help putting his glass down and laughing, “Xie Yan probably wants to beat someone up after hearing that!”

    “AHAHAHA!”

The others all laughed. Su Shen was a little embarrassed and ultimately, Xie Yan pulled her to sit on the other end of the sofa, seemingly not wanting to bother with anyone.

The room was filled with incessant noise. There were several cards and dozens of beer on the long table and more than 20 bottles were empty on the floor, one even rolling to Su Shen’s feet. The people in the entertainment industry had always been very open and knew how to play. It was already quite good here. Su Shen had seen the kind of parties where young models were invited directly.

“It just so happens we need two more people, you guys arrived at the perfect timing. I’m going to shuffle the cards!” As Jiang Liankai spoke, he drew out a few cards and warned with a scroll, “First things first, if anyone dares to cheat, then drink. Don’t even try to leave without drinking a dozen!”

“Damn you! We’re the ones afraid that you’ll be so drunk that you won’t be able to get married tomorrow!” Sun Zhi laughed and drew a card first.

Su Shen guessed that they were playing Government Officials Catching Thieves. There must be two thieves among the eight people, but… among them, there were three Film Emperors, one TV Emperor, one Film Empress, how could the remaining people play…

The others drew one card after another, with Su Shen drawing the last one. Fortunately, she drew a government official, while the catchers were Cao Yaner and the 2nd-Gen star.

The catchers needed to find out who the thieves were from the rest just based on everyone’s expressions, but how could the rest of them be so easily detected?

Crossing her legs, Cao Yaner twirled her big curly hair and glanced at the six people with a pair of smokey eyes. The others were expressionless, except for Sun Zhi who was drinking casually. Suddenly, Cao Yaner pointed her index finger at Jiang Liankai across from her.

“Turn over your card!” shouted Sun Zhi.

Frowning, Jiang Liankai said in a mellow voice, “Xiao Cao, you guessed wrong. I can give you another chance.”

“Stop bluffing. Turn over your card quickly!” Sun Zhi grabbed the card from his hand and threw it on the table.

Although the lighting was dim, the word “thief” was clearly seen by everyone. At that moment, Sun Zhi laughed wildly and unscrupulously. “AHAHA, Lao* Jiang, how dare you say that you’re good at acting? You must’ve bought those awards!”

lao – a term to refer to someone to indicate affection, familiarity, or respect

“Goddammit!” Jiang Liankai drank a mouthful of beer unhappily and glared at Sun Zhi, “This was an accident. All the 13 awards in my house are real!”

That 2nd-Gen star chose Ge Luo, but unfortunately, the thief was in the hands of Xie Yan.

As a government official, Su Shen could impose any punishment on a thief. Before she decided, Jiang Liankai kept saying that she was beautiful and kind-hearted, and that she was definitely not the same as the others.

Just at this moment, Xie Yan suddenly came over, “Have him post on Weibo, saying ‘I’m ugly.’”

    Su Shen: “……”

“AHAHA! 66666*!” Sun Zhi immediately gave Xie Yan a thumbs up.

66666 – a Chinese slang to say something is so amazing or great

Ge Luo, at the side, said with a smile, “I concur.”

    Su Shen: “……”

It turned out that Ge laoshi also liked joking around.

Hearing this, Jiang Liankai was a little unhappy. “Xie Yan, stop interfering. What right do you have to interfere with Su Shen’s decision!”

“Based on them being boyfriend and girlfriend! Hand over your phone, or you can finish all these beers by yourself!” Sun Zhi was also a government official, so he also needed to impose a punishment.

With a darkened face, Jiang Liankai reluctantly handed over his phone. Although Su Shen said that he didn’t need to, Sun Zhi grabbed his phone and immediately pressed this and there. Not soon after, he laughed and returned the phone to him.

Su Shen went on her phone and searched Jiang Liankai on Weibo. Although it was only a minute later, there were already hundreds of comments below the post, and all of them were confused.

Netizen A: Did Boss Jiang’s account get hacked? [joy]

Netizen B: AHAHAHA, why do I want to laugh so much!

Netizen C: What did Boss Jiang experience? Why did he have such an idea? [joy]

Netizen D: Betchu this post will be on Hot Search, keeping this here for later. [joy]

Netizen E: No… not ugly. Why did the boss suddenly doubt his looks? [surprise]

Netizen F: Go and get Botox. It’ll tighten you up, worth it. [doge]

Although Jiang Liankai was famous, his popularity was not that of xiao xian rous. If it was a xiao xian rou, the post would surely be on Hot Search in minutes.

The 2nd-Gen star guessed wrong. Zheng Tong, who drew a government official, only had him drink a bottle of beer.

Only Jiang Liankai had a long face and seemed to want to get back at Xie Yan and Sun Zhi. When he was shuffling the cards, Cao Yaner suddenly waved toward the door, “Qing Qing, here!”

Su Shen looked up and saw a tall woman wearing an orange overcoat walking towards them from the door under the dim lights. Her hair was brown and slightly curled.

Su Shen recognized her—Cen Qing, an A-list starlet. Although she hadn’t won a Best Actress, her fame and acting were not inferior to others, and she was even more popular than those starlets like Yang Zhi.

As soon as she arrived, Jiang Liankai greeted her with a smile. “Here comes the beauty, quick, sit here!”

“Who wants to sit with you, an ‘ugly’ person? Qing Qing, sit here and play. I’m gonna go to the restroom.” Suddenly, Cao Yaner stood up, looking back and forth at Cen Qing and Xie Yan before she grabbed her coat and left the room.

After sitting down, Cen Qing smiled and said in a clear voice as she saw Xie Yan, “Long time no see.”

Xie Yan’s expression remained indifferent and just nodded slightly.

Perhaps noticing the awkwardness in the atmosphere, Jiang Liankai continued to ask everyone to draw a card. Su Shen, however, couldn’t help but look at Xie Yan peculiarly.

Noticing her gaze, Xie Yan felt helpless. He could tell from her expression that she was overthinking it since they were not familiar with each other at all.

When everyone else was drawing cards, he couldn’t help holding her hand under the table and gently scratching her palm with his index finger.

Her palm itched, but Su Shen couldn’t withdraw her hand even if she wanted to, so she could only frown and glare at Xie Yan.

Noticing their small movements, Cen Qing couldn’t help but reach out to tuck her hair behind her ear with an inexplicable expression.

When she drew a card with her other hand, Su Shen found that she drew a catcher. But when she looked at the other people’s expressions, every single one of them were relaxed, without any dead giveaways on their faces.

Ge Luo drew a catcher first, and he very quickly pointed at Sun Zhi. The latter turned over his card embarrassedly, and sure enough, he was a thief.

This time, it was Jiang Liankai’s turn to laugh at him wildly. Just at this time, some of the other people in the room also came over to watch them play the game. Su Shen glanced at the rest of the people. Jiang Liankai was laughing wantonly, his forehead relaxed with no wrinkles. It could be seen that he was not nervous.

Looking at the 2nd-Gen star, he had been drinking all this while, but he drank at an even pace, so he was most likely not nervous. Then, she looked at Cen Qing with their eyes locking, as the other party was also looking at her. Cen Qing had naturally heard of Su Shen. After all, Xie Yan’s first drama was with her. Different from on-screen, Su Shen was slender and very fair in reality. Additionally, she was young. Her looks were more than enough in the entertainment industry. Moreover, she didn’t flatter or be timid in the presence of so many big names who were more famous than her. She either had endurance or a great upbringing.

She was looking at Su Shen, and Su Shen was also looking at her. She swept an insipid look over her face. Cen Qing was very beautiful, but she most likely had a rhinoplasty. It was rare for anyone in the entertainment industry not to go under the knife these days.

As for Zheng Tong, he was not a talkative person just like Xie Yan. Perhaps he was dragged here to play the game, his expression remained indifferent, and he was very calm. Perhaps he sensed her observation, he also glanced at her. Su Shen didn’t say anything, and then looked at Xie Yan. He was also looking at her, as usual.

Without hesitation, Su Shen pointed at the person beside her, “Xie Yan.”

“Turn the card over!” Jiang Liankai immediately pounded on the table.

After a pause, Xie Yan turned the card in his hand over.

“AHAHAHA! Xie Yan, you didn’t expect that you would fall into the hands of your own wife, did you?!” Sun Zhi couldn’t help laughing out loud.

The onlookers around them also joined in on the laughter. The government officials were none other than the 2nd-Gen star and Jiang Liankai.

The lights in the room full of clamor flickered. Some drank, some sang, and some played Poker. Under the dim lights, they were no different from ordinary people. Perhaps they enjoyed playing even more.

In fact, Su Shen just pointed at him randomly. She didn’t know if it was in the hands of Zheng Tong or Xie Yan, but she didn’t expect that she guessed right.

The tables have turned. Jiang Liankai glared at Sun Zhi, who was jeering at the side, before saying honorably, “Stop talking nonsense, what Weibo post. Although Xie Yan was heartless towards me, I can’t be unjust towards him!”

Before Sun Zhi could express his disdain, Jiang Liankai continued to look at Xie Yan earnestly, saying justly, “I’m very benevolent, so I won’t make things difficult for you. How about this, you french kiss Su Shen for five minutes in front of everyone?!”

Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 64

    This Was Fate

“En.” Su Shen admitted it frankly.

Hearing this, the person on the other end of the line paused for a bit, as if she didn’t expect that it was really her. After a while, Liu jie said, “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Would you agree if I had told you?” Su Shen said in a low voice, “Or, do you think I’m wrong?”

In this industry, it was best not to offend people if possible, especially those with a powerful background. No agent would take the initiative to do such a thing, even He Hua hesitated, let alone Liu jie.

Noticing the displeasure in her voice, Liu jie also calmed down and said seriously, “You should’ve told me in advance, so I would have a plan in mind and know how to deal with it. What if the other party counterattacked?”

“There are some things I don’t want to say aloud, but do you think I’m a person who makes trouble out of nothing?” Su Shen said coldly.

Liu jie’s considerations were not wrong, but if she had told her in advance, how could she have agreed?

It was the first time that Xiao Zhou saw her so unhappy and was at a loss of what to do, so she went outside with the two makeup artists, leaving room for her to talk.

“I don’t know why you did this all of a sudden, but if you had told me in advance, how did you know for sure I would stop you? Or in your heart, you actually don’t believe me anymore?”

Hearing the slightly angry voice from the other end of the line, Su Shen took a deep breath and looked down without saying anything.

The two of them stayed silent like this for a while before Su Shen said, “Sorry, I should’ve told you.”

Whether Liu jie would’ve stopped her or not, she shouldn’t have hidden it from her. It just meant that they didn’t trust each other enough.

At that, the person on the other end of the line also calmed down and finally softened her tone, “I know that He Hua has been inviting you to go over. It’s actually not a bad idea, but your sister entrusted you to me. As long as you’re still under me, I will still care about you.”

Su Shen uttered a light “en.” It’s been very stressful for her lately, every day was so busy that she had no time to think about the future. Everyone thought that she would leave, but she didn’t think about it at all.

“You will have several engagements next month. I will send you the itinerary. Also, you’ve been nominated for the Best Newcomer Award for the 52nd Silver Bear* award. On the ninth of next month, you have to attend the award ceremony with the rest of the cast, Fan Meng’s also going to be there!”

Silver Bear – award at the Berlin International Film Festival

Liu jie stressed her last words. She knew what she was worried about. Since she dared to do it, she was not afraid of it being known.

“I know. I’ll be careful.” She said insipidly.

Hearing this, Liu jie on the other end didn’t say anything and hung up soon afterward.

After sitting for a while, she sent a message to ask Xiao Zhou to come back in. After the hairstylist finished styling her hair, she went back out to shoot again.

For the last few days, all the scenes were large-scale. In order to quicken the pace, they worked until midnight every day, which was a huge burden on the body. On a few occasions, Su Shen almost fainted, but she managed to hold on in the end.

The discussion online continued, but fortunately, the movie had already finished airing, so it could not affect the box office. The statement released by Fan Meng’s studio was very diplomatic, insinuating that she was being framed and the truth of the video was far from the rumors.

Two days later, Fan Meng issued her statement.

Fan Meng V*: For the past two days, I haven’t had a good rest and just wanted to work. The director said that this was not good for my health, but I know that only in this way can I temporarily forget all the troubles. To be honest, I feel very helpless. Everyone says that I had plastic surgery. Yes, I admit that I have made some micro adjustments. Everyone loves beauty. I just wanted to improve myself to become a better me. But “some” people’s comments have gone too far, touching upon my family. I don’t want to say anything and have been running from set to set. I know my existence has affected a lot of people, and I don’t want to compete with someone. What you don’t want to be done to you, don’t do to others. Why should I impose on others what I have done? There are a lot of people cursing at me right now, saying that I’m cheap, shameless, and even more outrageous remarks. I know that as a public figure, I should have a strong heart. Perhaps I’m not strong enough, so I don’t dare to ask for anything. I just hope that everyone doesn’t involve my family. What have they done to deserve this? As for the video, I know that no matter how I explain it, no one will believe me. Liu dong is a good friend of mine. We often like to joke, and sometimes we speak and act without qualms. I admit that as a public figure, I have caused a commotion. I don’t expect everyone to believe me. I only know that the people who believe me will always believe me. For those that don’t believe me, I hope to use better works to let you all get to know the real Fan Meng.

V – it’s like a verified checkmark, like on Instagram and Twitter

Netizen A: Do I smell a conspiracy here? I feel that Fan Meng is being framed by “someone”?

Netizen B: There’s no smoke without fire. This kind of explanation to fool a three-year-old should be left to those brainless diehard fans to see. [smiley face]

Netizen C: This b***h is a green tea b***h for reals! Not mentioning anything else, but has this face really only been slightly adjusted? More like swapping a head!

Netizen D: Believing our Meng Meng, the antis can go die!

Netizen E: Honestly, I don’t think that Fan Meng has done anything wrong. These kinds of things are common in this industry, it’s just that they haven’t been exposed. The fault’s on Fan Meng for offending someone. However, if they could defame a Best Actress, then the person behind it must be very powerful.

Netizen F: I don’t understand why there are still diehard fans trying to help her. This kind of person should be kicked out of the entertainment industry. Don’t even mention her acting to me. Doesn’t she have a clue about her acting skills?

Netizen G: I heard that the rest of the video was bought by Fan Meng’s studio for ten million. Sure enough, being rich is willful!

Fan Meng’s long statement had some effect. At least, those diehard fans found some psychological comfort and would certainly continue to support her. However, the matter with fans was uncertain. The key depended on the number of passersby turned fans. But, it was obvious that Fan Meng’s reputation among passersby had hit rock bottom.

Su Shen didn’t feel sorry for her. If she took pity on others, others wouldn’t take pity on her.

The day filming wrapped up, the crew went out for dinner again. That paparazzi had been following her nonstop. When Su Shen packed her things and asked the chauffeur to drive her back to her condo overnight, that paparazzi had been waiting downstairs all this time.

Su Shen didn’t dare open her curtains. After taking a shower, she laid down on the bed. She had to fly abroad tomorrow with He Hua, and the next few days were filled with engagements. The middle of next month, she will go on set for Director Li’s film. The drama starring Jiang Yin and her would air at the end of next month, and at that time, there would be a series of promotional activities.

Lying in bed, Su Shen fell asleep in less than ten seconds. She was so exhausted that she could sleep for a day and a night. However, her phone rang at 8:00 am the next morning.

She didn’t know how long it rang. When Su Shen answered the call in a daze, a hurried voice transmitted through, “Quickly, I just saw the two paparazzi go have breakfast!”

Su Shen rubbed her temples to wake herself up upon hearing that. “Got it, I’ll come down soon.”

She then hung up the phone just when He Hua wanted to say something.

He understood women too well. Every time, they say it would be quick, but it would take at least half an hour minimum and an hour max. Two hours was the most common. They would not come out unless they changed all the clothes in their closet.

However, to his surprise, a woman in a pink mask came down as soon as he finished a cigarette. She was petite, wearing a plain black coat, and with a carry-on, in her hand, as she walked towards him in a hurry.

She opened the door and squeezed in. After placing her carry-on on the rear seat, Su Shen leaned against the seat and continued to sleep.

“You’re quite fast.” He Hua looked at her in surprise and noticed that she didn’t even wear makeup, which was a breath of fresh air among female celebrities.

Before the two paparazzi came back, He Hua immediately drove away. If they were followed, they couldn’t get rid of them even if they wanted to.

After being on the road for a while, Su Shen suddenly asked, “Who’s getting married?”

She still didn’t know who was getting married.

Hearing a voice from the back, He Hua turned the steering wheel while saying casually, “Jiang Liankai.”

Su Shen immediately woke up upon hearing that. Jiang Liankai was considered to be the top veteran actor of his generation. He had won three Best Actors and was an actor star. He had also won several international awards. Among the veteran superstars who were mostly retired, he was indeed the most famous. However, he had also reduced taking on work and seemed to move toward working behind the scenes. Although he was 42, he had no scandals, let alone a girlfriend. Unlike Xie Yan, he knew how to liven up the atmosphere. Every time he interviewed, he would always give the reporters good points to write, but rarely revealed his private life. It was indeed surprising that he suddenly would be getting married now.

“His wife is also in the entertainment industry?” Su Shen asked.

He Hua casually replied, “No. She chased him.”

Hearing this, Su Shen just smiled and didn’t ask anything else. When they arrived at the airport, she put on her mask again and traversed through the crowd, but she was still recognized when passing the security check. Fortunately, someone just called her once and did not attract too much attraction.

After getting on the flight, Su Shen leaned against the seat and rested. This was a private engagement, so in order not to be recognized, she wore a mask throughout the flight.

After getting off the flight, He Hua brought her to the hotel where Xie Yan stayed. She heard that all the guests would be staying there. Su Shen didn’t know whether there would be any reporters at the wedding, but if she was photographed then so be it.

When they arrived at the hotel, Su Shen saw two familiar figures at the front desk. She couldn’t help but walk up to He Hua and asked, “Those two look familiar.”

Walking in front of her, He Hua glanced at them casually and then pressed the elevator button, “Wu Jin and He Liu.”

Wu Jin was the most popular singer in recent years, but she also had the capability to back it up. Su Shen liked her voice a lot, no wonder she looked familiar. He Liu, on the other hand, was the daughter of a pop diva in the last century. She was a 2nd-Gen star and could be said to join the entertainment industry for fun.

Seeing these two people, Su Shen realized that there might be a lot of big names at the wedding.

When the elevator arrived, He Hua brought her to the ninth floor. As soon as they walked out of the elevator, they saw several people walking toward them in the hallway covered with wool carpets. They were chatting and laughing, and Xie Yan was also among them. He was wearing a black coat, walking in the middle, and saying a few words from time to time. But when they saw He Hua, they all came to greet him.

“He zong, look at your rosy cheeks! You must’ve made a fortune again recently!” The leader of the group, a man wearing a gray coat, instantly strode over.

At the sight of him, He Hua laughed and patted him on the shoulder. “Recently, investments have been sluggish, don’t even mention money to me. Can’t be compared to you, happiness among joyous events that the wrinkles around the corners of your eyes are disappearing.”

“AHAHAHA!” The others bursted into laughter.

“F you! When did your daughter grow up? Your genes actually gave birth to such a pretty daughter?” Jiang Liankai jokingly glanced at Su Shen.

He Hua didn’t get angry either and immediately looked back at Su Shen. “Quick, greet Uncle!”

“Ahaha, Xie Yan, what, you’re not gonna introduce?” A person who got wind of the news looked at Xie Yan with a meaningful expression.

Standing there, Su Shen kept a smile on her face because she found that these people were all her seniors. It was a fortune for her to see them gather together all at once.

When he saw her, Xie Yan naturally walked to her side, took her suitcase, and wrapped his arm around her shoulder. “Su Shen, my girlfriend.”

Tsk tsk tsk!” Jiang Liankai glanced at Xie Yan meaningfully, “You’re really something! Found a girl without a word or sound!”

Su Shen blushed and still felt shy regarding this kind of teasing.

Xie Yan, however, remained the same and said insipidly, “This is fate.”

He Hua was about to vomit. What fate? He had never seen Xie Yan being so corny before. Could it be that he shot too many idol dramas?

The others also couldn’t stand it. In the end, Jiang Liankai went to drink with the others. Xie Yan naturally stayed, but He Hua followed them.

After entering the hotel room, Su Shen took off her heavy coat and looked at the door with a strange expression. She asked softly, “My dad likes Ge Luo laoshi’s works the most. Can you ask for an autograph for me?”

Upon hearing this, Xie Yan wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, buried his head in her neck, and took a deep breath. “When we get married, your dad can even talk to Ge laoshi closely.”

Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 63

    Counterattack

“Offend or not, I’ve already offended her. Or, do you think I shouldn’t do this?” Su Shen asked back.

At that, the person on the other end of the phone paused for a while before saying, “Fine, send me the money. They will expose it when the time comes.”

Hearing this, Su Shen didn’t say anything more. After hanging up the phone, she sent three million to He Hua. Compared to three million, she couldn’t stand Fan Meng even more.

In the next few days, He Hua didn’t have them release the video just yet but waited for the perfect opportunity.

As the first trailer of the drama starring her and Xie Yan was about to be released, they could use this matter of Fan Meng to divert everyone’s attention if it didn’t react well with the public or if those fans were maliciously attacking her. Killing two birds with one stone.

On the day the first trailer was to be released, Su Shen was shooting a fighting scene. It had been NGed several times before it passed, tiring her out to the point where her bones could disintegrate. The director then let her go and have lunch.

Sitting in her dressing room, Su Shen ate a takeout box lunch. Her Weibo was now managed by Liu jie and she didn’t need to reshare promotional posts by herself anymore. Just when she was about to check her phone at 12:00 pm, a call came in.

It was Xie Yan. When she answered the phone, a familiar voice came from the other end of the line, “Are you free on the 20th?”

Hearing this, Su Shen was taken aback. She took a sip of water and asked, “What’s up? Won’t you still be filming?”

It was just her and Xiao Zhou in the dressing room. The others had gone out for lunch.

“A friend’s getting married.” Xie Yan said.

Hearing this, Su Shen’s heart couldn’t help but beat faster. She coughed embarrassingly and glanced at Xiao Zhou beside her, who was playing on her phone and laughing nonstop.

She picked up a piece of tofu and put it into her mouth. She mumbled, “I… should be free.”

At that, the person on the other end paused for a bit before saying, “Then, you’ll leave with He Hua on the 19th. We’ll rendezvous in Paris.”

To have He Hua attend, who was an opportunist, the other party’s identity must not be simple, but she hadn’t heard of anyone in the industry who was getting married.

After pondering for a bit, she then responded, “Got it.”

Originally, she would wrap up filming for this drama on the 25th. In this case, she would probably need to shoot all the scenes together in advance. It shouldn’t be a problem if she told the director.

After saying that, there was a long silence on the other end of the line. Just when Su Shen was about to hang up, the person on the other end couldn’t help but ask, “When are you going to take me to see your parents?”

    Su Shen: “…….”

She tightened her hold on the chopstick as her ears turned slightly red. Beside her, Xiao Zhou was laughing faintly, as if she had seen something funny.

“I… I’ll tell them when I have time.” As soon as she finished speaking, she immediately followed with, “I’m eating, bye.”

As soon as she said that, she immediately hung up before the other end could say anything and threw her phone aside, her heart beating faster.

She knew that she should inform her parents about her relationship with Xie Yan, but she didn’t know how to bring it up. Moreover, her mom opposed her finding someone from the entertainment industry, so she didn’t know if she would also oppose Xie Yan when the time came.

Seeing her sitting still on the sofa, Xiao Zhou couldn’t help but look at the takeout box lunch on the table. “Is it not good? How about I go out and buy some side dishes?”

“No, it’s fine.” Taking a deep breath, she picked up the cup of water at the side and took a sip.

Thinking of the trailer released today, Su Shen immediately picked up her phone and went on Weibo. As soon as she opened it, she saw her and Xie Yan’s names were No. 1 on Hot Search. Thinking that she was being maliciously attacked again, Su Shen felt helpless. Female fans were very possessive, wishing that their idol stay single for the rest of their life.

But when she clicked on the comments, she saw that the situation was different from what she had imagined.

Netizen A: AHHHH! MY MAIDEN HEART!

Netizen B: My HP’s zero! CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!!

Netizen C: I allow Su Shen to be our Yan ge’s woman. [doge]

Netizen D: The trailer’s so sweet. It looks pretty good, can’t wait for the drama to be released. [heart]

Netizen E: OMG! When I saw Su Shen sitting on my Yan ge’s back reading, this auntie couldn’t help smiling.

    Netizen F: NOOOO!!! HUBBY’S MINE!!!

Netizen G: I bet on a bag of latiao*. If there’s nothing between these two, I’ll livestream the mukbang. [smiley face]

latiao – literally spicy stick, a popular Chinese snack made of wheat flour and chili

Netizen H: Those who said that Li Xue could KO Su Shen’s acting back then, come out. Does your face hurt? [smiley face]

Netizen I: AHAHAHA, this scheming b***h is using Xie Yan for clout again, waiting for Xie Yan to come out and clarify. [smiley face]

Su Shen didn’t expect that there would be so few people maliciously attacking her. Except for a small number of Xie Yan’s diehard girl fans, the rest didn’t attack her and just looked forward to the drama. On the contrary, some passersby were the most excited. However, Su Shen didn’t know why they were so excited until she saw the trailer. The editor’s editing skills were certainly really good and suited the taste of the youngsters.

Su Shen understood the mentality of the fans. They thought that only the kind of woman who had a great character, beautiful, great acting, low-key, and did not hype could match their idol. Su Shen’s reputation before was not the best, mostly because of her poor acting and stealing other people’s roles. However, after the movie aired, coupled with the company’s marketing, her reputation gradually improved.

It was obvious that Liu jie didn’t expect this to happen also. She was already prepared to control the comments, but now, it seemed that there was no need for that. When Su Shen called her, the other end was busy, so she didn’t bother her afterward.

“AHHHHHH! HE’S SO HANDSOME!” Xiao Zhou sat on the other end of the sofa holding her phone excitedly.

Xiao Zhou was a diehard fan of Xie Yan to the point of being obsessed. Su Shen knew that, but assistants weren’t allowed to chase after stars, or they would be fired. But, Su Shen didn’t tell Liu jie about this.

Su Shen couldn’t help but say, “I’ll let you hug him next time.”

Being near, one would know that their idol was just like any other person.

“Ah?” Xiao Zhou screamed excitedly and waved her hand desperately, “No, no! I won’t be able to stand it!”

    Su Shen: “…….”

She didn’t understand the world of fans.

After a few bites, she put on her windbreaker and walked out of the dressing room to go look for the director. Hearing that she wanted to wrap up filming on the 19th, the director didn’t say anything and just told her to be prepared as it would be very tiring to shoot all the action scenes grouped together.

Su Shen naturally knew that these scenes would be exhausting, but she had no choice. She also decided that she would never take on this kind of action script again. Her body could not bear it.

In the afternoon, she shot several gun battle scenes. When she returned to the hotel, it was already 9:00 pm. On another note, Su Shen noticed that there was another paparazzi following her. Now, she didn’t even dare to open the curtains in her room and living room.

In the next few days, the cp shipping Xie Yan and her had been growing crazily, because in the past, Xie Yan would come out and clarify, but this time, he didn’t. There were more and more antis, but Liu jie said that her social media index was the highest this month. Although most of the scripts sent over were idol dramas, her booking fee had risen a lot. It had reached $350,000 per episode. Additionally, the modern romance drama starring Jiang Yin as the male lead seemed to be set on casting her, going as far as to compensate her with 30 million. But no matter how much they gave her, Su Shen didn’t want to accept it.

On the 15th, a media studio suddenly released a video, which instantly exploded the Internet. The topic #Fan Meng Checking-In To A Hotel With A Man# spread like wildfire. For this kind of scandal, netizens liked to watch it the most, and almost all the comments below the post were filled with obscenities.

Netizen A: So repulsive, how could Fan Meng sleep with such an old man [vomit]

Netizen B: The diehard fans don’t need to come out and brainwash. No matter how good a relationship one has with another, would it be to the point of holding hands? Even father and daughter wouldn’t do this, no? [smiley face]

Netizen C: I can’t even look at it. This industry is too messy!

Netizen D: I can’t believe I used to be her fan. I didn’t expect her to be so disgusting. [vomit]

The comments online were extremely extreme. An actress with this kind of stain was bound to have this part of their dark history. However, Su Shen didn’t think Fan Meng was pitiful. When she wanted her to be exposed in front of everyone, she didn’t feel sorry for her.

In the dressing room, several makeup artists were discussing what happened online. They were all part of this industry, so they knew that someone must’ve done this to Fan Meng. However, Su Shen kept silent.

“Su jie, your call.” Just then, Xiao Zhou suddenly brought her phone to her.

Su Shen was sitting in front of the vanity getting her hair done. Seeing that she had a call, the stylist behind her stopped.

Seeing that it was Liu jie, an anxious voice came through from the other end as soon as Su Shen answered, “Fan Meng’s matter, did you do it?”

Film Empress’s Daily Face Slapping Chapter 62

    Sneakily

The familiar voice immediately made Su Shen freeze. When she looked up, she saw a familiar figure with his cap lowered to cover most of his face. Wearing an ordinary black jacket, he looked like the rest of the staff part of the production crew.

Seeing him, Su Shen was stunned. Evidently, she didn’t expect him to suddenly appear here and with no news at all!

“This take is good enough. If we reshoot it, it’ll just be wasting money.” The director chuckled.

Actually, he just found out that Su Shen was Xie Yan’s girlfriend. When he saw Xie Yan, he thought he must’ve come to visit Li Hao on set and was going to ask him to do a cameo, but who knew that he would ask him to find a body double for Su Shen as soon as he opened his mouth. He didn’t even like to use a body double, but now, he wanted his girlfriend to use one!

    “I… I’m going to change.”

Realizing what she had just done, Su Shen immediately wanted to leave, but as soon as she turned around, her arm was tightly grabbed. When she turned around, she saw Xie Yan staring at her somberly.

Su Shen felt a little guilty, but she had no choice as this scene had to show her face.

She rolled her eyes and suddenly grabbed his arm, murmuring, “I really missed you.”

    Li Hao: “…….”

There were so many people here!

Li Hao left and so did the others. Xiao Zhou squatted not far away to keep watch in case any paparazzi would sneak in.

A soft voice ran in his ear, successfully making Xie Yan calm down. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and whispered, “I missed you too.”

Blushing, Su Shen didn’t say anything. She had heard that acting cute would be really effective, and it was true.

“But, who told you to do such a dangerous stunt?” Xie Yan narrowed his eyes and stared at her.

    Su Shen: “…….”

    Lies, acting cute was useless!

“I… I had no choice. I had to show my face in this scene.” She blinked and said in a somewhat guilty tone.

When she remembered that they were still in the middle of the street, she immediately looked around. There had been a paparazzi following her for the past few days, she couldn’t get photographed again, those few photos would cost a couple of millions. It was so not worth it.

“Someone’s taking pictures outside. I’ll ask Xiao Zhou to distract them. Go to my van in five minutes.” Su Shen whispered.

Hearing this, Xie Yan didn’t say anything. Taking a look at the black cap on his head, Su Shen immediately stood on tiptoe to take it off and said, “Lemme borrow it for a sec.”

As she said that, she put his cap on and then brought Xiao Zhou to the van outside parked on the road.

At a glance, she saw an SUV parked at the corner of the street. This car had been following her for a week nonstop.

After getting in the car with Xiao Zhou, she took off her jacket, “Change into my jacket and discreetly go over there. Hail a taxi and have the driver circle around for a bit.”

Hearing this, Xiao Zhou naturally understood what she meant. She immediately took off her jacket and changed into Su Shen’s beige windbreaker and placed the black cap on.

After Xiao Zhou got off the car, Su Shen observed the situation outside. She saw Xiao Zhou looking down and hurriedly walking along the side of the road. After hailing a taxi, the SUV at the corner finally moved.

After the taxi drove away, the SUV followed it unhurriedly, keeping a certain distance from the taxi.

Just at this moment, the door of the van suddenly opened and a figure in black abruptly got in. After the door was slammed shut, the inside of the entire car became dim again.

“Why are you here?” Glancing at him, Su Shen took out two bottles of water from the bag next to her.

She wanted to open the bottle, but as soon as she exerted force, she couldn’t help but sounded “ssh” and opened her hand. There were several wounds on her palm. They were not too deep and were just scraped with blood oozing out only.

With a long face, Xie Yan embraced her nape, leaned over, and stared at her, “You’re so daring.”

When their eyes met, he had a long face, seemingly the first time this angry. Su Shen blinked and suddenly leaned in to kiss him on the lips before gently saying, “I promise this will be the last time.”

A trace of warmth could still be felt on his lips. Staring at her slightly blushed face, Xie Yan snorted and caressed her head unhappily. “What will you do to guarantee that?”

Seeing him staring at her, Su Shen looked down and didn’t say anything. Why did she have to feel guilty? Clearly, Xie Yan did this last time too.

He took the bottle of water, unscrewed it, and handed it to her mouth. His tone was solemn, “Do you know how dangerous it was just now? What if you were blown up? Is money more important or your life?”

Su Shen looked up and pursed her lips, “Last time, you skydived. What if you were to accidentally break an arm or leg?”

    Xie Yan: “……”

“This is not an excuse. I’m me, and you are you. Why did you learn from me?” He still had a long face.

“Why can’t I learn from you? It’s you who didn’t set a good example for me. I was influenced by you.” She took the bottle and gulped a big mouthful.

The spilled water slid along her jaw down to her neck. Xie Yan darkened his eyes and suddenly bit her neck, sucking that water droplet into his mouth and in passing, her neck.

Su Shen felt number all over, and the water in her hand splashed onto the seat beside her.

“Okay, I will be a good example for you in the future, and you will have to be a good student.” He looked up and said in a muffled voice.

Su Shen’s ears turned red, but she still snorted and said, “Got it. Thanks, Xie laoshi.”

Staring at her ruby lips, Xie Yan’s eyes darkened. He suddenly leaned in and whispered in her ear, “But, I’m still angry. What are you gonna do?”

His hot breath puffed onto her ear, causing Su Shen’s whole body to be a little limp. She pulled her neck back, “What… can I do…”

“What did you do just now?” He stared at her wandering eyes fervently.

His gaze was so fervent that Su Shen couldn’t help but swallow her throat. Her face began to burn again, but she didn’t know how to take this step forward.

Without saying anything, Xie Yan just stared at her silently. The atmosphere in the car suddenly became strange. As if she couldn’t stand his gaze anymore, Su Shen leaned in trembling and kissed him on the lips blushingly.

The next moment, she was pressed hard against the seat as a hot kiss overwhelmed her. Su Shen could only utter an “mhm” as she gasped for breath.

He gently bit her soft lips and roughly plundered all her sweetness. He didn’t let her go until he noticed that she was out of breath. He stared at her and said, “Remember not to do such a dangerous thing in the future.”

“En,” said Su Shen weakly, “I’ll tell the director.”

Xie Yan: “I’ve already told him.”

    Su Shen: “……..”

She tried her best to calm down with a flushed face and stared at him with her big watery eyes. “Why are you here?”

    It was so sudden.

“Filming is done in Africa, we’re going to Egypt next for some shots.” He wrapped his arms around her waist, buried his head into her neck, and took a deep breath. “I wanted to see you.”

    Su Shen frowned. Egypt?

“When will you leave?” She was a little unhappy. Why did the director have to choose those places to film?

    Xie Yan: “Now.”

He then looked at his watch and kissed her on the cheek. “I gotta go, or I won’t be able to catch my flight.”

The whole production crew was waiting for him.

Hearing this, just as Su Shen wanted to say something else, she saw that Xie Yan had opened the door and got out of the car.

“Be careful,” she poked her head out of the window, looking a little worried. “Remember what you said. If you do dangerous stunts, I’ll learn from you.”

The person who had got off the car turned around and looked at the little head that poked out from the window. He chuckled, “I still have a lot of things for you to learn.”

He then strode to the corner of the street. Zhao Tong must be waiting for him there in a car.

Blushing, Su Shen didn’t want to bother with his teasing. She didn’t withdraw her head until she saw his figure disappear from her sight. For a moment, she suddenly agreed with He Hua. Why did he have to take on such a dangerous film? What if something happened?

She decided that she couldn’t let Xie Yan make such a reckless decision in the future. No matter what, nothing was more important than one’s life.

After circling around for a while, Xiao Zhou came back in half an hour. Perhaps they knew that they had been tricked as that SUV came back before Xiao Zhou. But Xie Yan had already left. They couldn’t have taken anything.

There were several silent scenes in the afternoon. Although it was not tiring, the explosion scene today caused several wounds on Su Shen’s body. When she returned to the hotel at night, she disinfected them with Qtips alone.

It was quiet in the hotel room; the light above dazzling. It was not until a ringtone broke the silence.

Su Shen placed the Qtip down and leaned against the sofa to answer the phone. Immediately, He Hua’s steady voice came from the other end of the line, “I’ve watched the video. Fan Meng entered a hotel with a man while holding his arm. When they got out of the car, she kissed the man on the cheek. The man is the vice president of her company. He’s 50 and likes to play with young models the most. If you want it, they can give you the video of Fan Meng entering the hotel with him while holding his arm, but the price is three million, which is already the lowest price!”

A kiss would be more of a hardcore evidence than just holding his arm, but that paparazzi certainly didn’t want to sell all of his information in this way. If they keep the other half, Fan Meng would definitely splash out money to buy it. A video could be sold twice, which was definitely more worth it.

“No problem. Should the man be blurred out?” Su Shen asked seriously.

It was just holding an arm. Entering a hotel while holding a 50-year-old man’s arm, it was plain as day.

“No need. It’s not the first time that Liu dong* has been photographed on a date with aspiring stars. Paparazzi often follow him. This time, taking a photo of him and Fan Meng was by accident.” He Hua said with a laugh.

dong – a term to address a director of a company

Su Shen paused upon hearing that before saying, “I’ll send the money to you now.”

At that, He Hua couldn’t help but ask, “Think it through. You will completely become enemies with Fan Meng with this. She still has some connections in this industry. Are you sure you want to offend her?”
